Somewhere yesterday (and I can't think where I read it or saw it, newspaper perhaps?) was news of a large Elvis memorabilia auction taking place. It's a good hook for an ebay sale at the same time.

Have you thought about how you are going to send it to the winner Digger ? - if it climbed up into 3 figures Im not sure I would be happy sending it even by recorded post

    - some dealer with a throw away account could claim the envelope was empty or just had a blank sheet of A3 inside and then get into Ebay / Paypal dispute stuff ( and they do favour the buyer in a lot of cases )

if it does get into serious money then you might be surprised ( or sadly not ) how far some of these chancers will go to get their hands on it -

and once its left your hands !! :( ........

I just dont think I could take the risk

I take it youve blocked non UK buyers and zero feedback buyers for a start ?

Then you would still have to have proof that you hand delivered the item though - or he could still claim non receipt

That is the worst scenario for delivery..see my earlier post. Special delivery only.

  • surely even with special delivery covering you up to 2.5 k , if they claimed it was blank paper ,where would you stand with Ebay , Paypal or the Royal Mail ??

If you do hand deliver it make sure it's cash only. As people can chargeback Paypal. If you do it through Paypal make sure it goes through a reputable courier or Special Delivery. Providing it sells for a lot mind you.
