My Dad said that in his speech at my wedding, followed by "you can always start another one tomorrow..."
Well done diggerman, good result on your auction.

just to update , buyer doesnt want the letter and wants a refund.......................... not happening ! i clearly stated in my listing that it was not verified , and buyer paid cash by special delivery. ( not through paypal as i requested ) i thought this man was nice , maybe i am wrong .
i asked people in my listing to pay what they thought , and he paid what he thought.
am i wrong in refusing ? input gratefully received

Hi Digger !
whats his reason for wanting a refund ?As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

I'd ask his reason for wanting a refund then go to ebay help and ask their advice.
Hope you get it sorted xxSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

If this was last year we would say you have no problems as buyer paid cash, all you can 'suffer' is a neg. However, and this warrants capitals 'HOWEVER'' , ebay have had some real issues with fakes and appear to be going OTT to clear up their reputation, worse case scenario here is that buyer gets some sort of authentication from soemwhere (I have no idea where?) that it is a fake, he will get a refund via ebay which they will ask you to reimburse (they can't take it from you though) and the letter is destroyed.
The auction implied this could be a genuine Elvis letter but as you cannot sell fakes it either is or it is not and there is an outside possibility that ebay will over react on this.
If this had gone to a B and M house they would have been able to sell 'sold as seen' with their own protection covering them against a counter claim, on ebay you can't do that.
That is the worse case scenario though and there is every chance he'll get nowehere and just leave a neg and move on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It's because it's a fake if it wasn't the OP would have had it verified as genuine by a reputable source and sold it for far more money than they did.0 -

How do we know it isn't, and that's the issue with ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
