Totted up Christmas and holiday savings

    Christmas savings
    Nectar points £24.27
    Savings Stamps £23
    Luncheon Vouchers £42
    Total for Christmas = £89.27

    Savings for holidays
    £2 jar = £26
    50p jar = £13.50
    20p jar = £15.60
    Total = £55.10

Really pleased with this as I hadn't totted it all up for a while so good totals arriving and the savings stamps may get to £30-35 in total and the coin jars can keep on going for a while longer

    Thanks Pipster!

Well I've been into town and had a bit of a unplanned splurge on the following
shampoo and conditioner 2 for £6
hair serum and finishing cream 2 for £7
leave in conditioner and hair mask buy one get one free
    hair dye
body lotion and cream buy one get one half price

Biggest splurge was on my redness moisturiser which I decided I didn't want to be without anymore as my red blotchiness has returned without it. I never thought it would do such a good job and I can really tell I'm not using it. Anyway, also bought the daily base which I'm also nearly out of and in return got the bonus time gift (nice) and the holiday size redness kit (very useful).

Feel a bit guilty about it despite no longer stocking up on expensive skncare and only buying what I need. I'll continue to use the other 2 moisturisers I have in the drawer at night so shouldn't need anything to use a night for a good 6mths or more.

Don't need any other beauty or hair stuff now so thats a good thing and I can stay out of the shops for a while!

What else, bought the magazine with the boot guide in and received a £5 voucher to use. This can go towards the 2 books I saw on offer in there today to get them for £15 instead of £20 which will be Christmas presents

And finally got the internet sorted out on my phone. Might have known it would have been the tiniest little thing that needed swiping on the touchscreen acompanied by a look of incredularity from the 'only slighter older than teen guru' who resloved the issue!

Anyway due to the heavy spends today next weekend will have to be a low spend weekend. Shouldn't need too much from the shops apart from fruit and milk so might even get a NSD weekend in. If I plan it now it might even happen!

Pear pickling time in a little while after another cuppa. Very thick grey could overhead. Still trying to keep the heating off, lets see if I can manage it this weekend!

Forgot to mention, I walked into town meaning I have walked for 2 1/2 hours today plus the dog walk this morning, nearly burning off the same amount of kcals as if I had gone for a run. Plus there will be this afternoons longer walk too

Not going running until Monday at the earliest until I feel completely recovered from this virus. Still not completely back to normal yet.

Happily though, I tried on a pale orange frilly dress today (sounds gross but was rather lovely) in a size 12 - perfect fit. Was 70% off and a bargain price. Couldn't justify it at all. I think it would stay unworn in the wardrobe so with a heavy heart I put it back on the rail. I can't imagine there's anywhere I would go to wear it unfortunately. However, at the same time I tried on a small jumper/tunic thing - IT FITTED and LOOKED GREAT!!!!!! The downside? Very itchy but I'm more pleased both things fitted so well rather than buying them. So pleased I am a perfect size 12 again. I haven't been at this point for the last 13 years. As my weight crept creeping up and sometimes down and then back up to a size 14 . It's only now I can see my shape if how it used to be. I can't get used to it and its a good feeling!

The hardwork is paying off. Just need to shift this last 5lbs now and I'm there. Need to have a think about extending the membership of the diet club as can get it down to either £2 pw for 3mths or £1.67pw for 6mths. Will see how I am when I reach my target weight and see how long I think I need for the maintenance phase to help me keep my weight at that point rather than put it back on again over the next 6mths. Think I've just talked myself into the 6mths membership putting it like this!

    Saturday plan
    [STRIKE]pickle pears[/STRIKE]
    Clean LR and hoover
    [STRIKE]Walk into town for errands
    Have a nice coffee
Long walk with Mr Dog in the afternoon[/STRIKE]
    Sort out uni stuff

Back from a nice walk with Mr Dog. Lovely to see the trees in full shades of autumn colour

Bag of pears pickled - chose a too big jar so only went into 1 jar. Still not too expensive to do approx £1.60 in total cost.

Will do another one for a gift next weekend and chose a smaller jar then should get 2 jars out of this one.

2nd Christmas cake is on its last hour of cooking and smelling very nice indeed!

Will sort out uni folder later on and leave the cleaning until tomorrow after having leftover curry for tea and a glass of wine then early night as feeling quite tired after burning off 896 kcals today 696 kcal over the 200 kcal target - bonus day!

"Hi fedupandskint, good to see you, and especially good to see how you've changed your ways of financial thinking, you're doing fantastically, well done indeed!!! ":T courtesy of Sue UU on the SPC thread

This is a reminder to me of what I am using the SPC for - not for the £240 last year and now £299 Dubarry Boots but for a new pair of walking boots I need and have saved up every hard earned penny for and the rest can go towards a holiday which will also be much needed!

Just devised a rather nice sounding Sunday tea from the depths of the freezer and the fridge

Roast leg of duck, potato and parsnip badked rosti accompanied with carrots and cabbage.

Also going to make a butternut squash stew to have tomorrow and also stick some red cabbage into braise - both to freeze too.

Better make a move and get on and do some of this! Back later today
