Early night last night and an hour and a half lie in this morning. Still don't feel right. Not streaming with cold yet certainly not right. Not sure what it is, some kind of virus maybe?

Have stuck the bedding onto wash on autopilot as usual for a weekend and a loaf onto bake in the BM. Hardly hard work. Don't think I'll be up to much this weekend apart from keeping warm and attempting to do some reading for my assignment. Good job really as its due in soon and I can't face much cleaning today.

Starting to feel a bit better after not doing much at all this morning. A bit of washing and some easy soup making to use up veg languishing in the fridge and cupboard.

7 portions of sweet potato and lentil soup to use up 3 sweet pots and half a bunch of coriander
6 portions of lentil and bacon soup using up veg and 1/4 of leftover savoy cabbage and parsley from the garden

Washing is pretending to dry on the line and I've come up with a list of jobs to tick off this afternoon

    Hoover LR, BR and stairs
Sweep and mop kitchen and bathroom floors
    Change bedding
    Empty all bins
    Put tea onto cook
Take dog for a nice long walk early afternoon
Read a couple of chapters on ethics today and make notes to incorporate into work

    Sunday
    Clean bathroom
    Wipe hob
    Wipe table
    Washing
    Ironing
Take dog on nice long walk
    Studying

    Last post for today

I'm just about to embark on some reading for the assignment. Yes, really!

Anyway, yesterday I finally arranged some life insurance after meaning to do it all year. Guess it was the 3000 cc points that was the kick to do it. Nearly at 9000 cc points that takes me almost halfway to India on a flight. Not bad for a couple of months saving. Just need to keep an eye out for me cc points offers to increase the total some more

I'm not feeling too great today so I'm pleased I've completed all the housework in a brief next to no time this morning. Feel like a cold virus is going to hit me but for some reason its not coming out fully. Maybe I'm fighting it off and that's why I feel like this.

Anyway I'll drag myself out for a walk with the dog later to make sure he gets a good walk today. Plus I really need to do some reading today. Oh what fun!

Bleurrgh! Not very well so decided to take the day off work to try and get over it quicker and get some rest.

Will try and do some reading later on, if I can concentrate on it! Positives are it should be a NSD making it 11/15 today after another NSD weekend. 4 more to get this week. Should be able to do it unless I run out of milk before Friday

As I'm lounging around drinking tea feeling grotty I finally booked the holiday for March I've been meaning to for ages

Will send the deposit on Friday so can still count today as a NSD

Costs mean once the deposit is paid will need to save £100 per month for Dec/Jan/Feb to pay balance in Feb. Then all paid for and will need to save up some spending money

November is going to be an expensive month
    Gas and Elec bill
    Holiday deposit
    Book MOT for car

Will need to cut back quite a bit to achieve this which means continuing to eat up out of the freezer and cupboards.

    Must make this my mantra

    Do I need it?
Do I have something already in the cupboard or freezer?
Do I have it in the wardrobe or skincare drawer?
Will I use it or wear it?

Need to remember this otherwise I'll run out of money in a couple of weeks

I pledge to myself to remember this
    1. I am going on holiday and I am saving up sensibly to pay for it
    2. I do not need to go mad buying for Christmas - check your present lists
    3. I have plenty of food in the freezer and cupboards - use this up first!
    4. I have plenty of moisturiser - use this up before buying anymore
    5. Stick to and increase the NSD and stop caving in for a midweek afternoon treat
    6. Do not buy anything from QVC until I have weighed up all of these rules, taken a deep breath to consider them and then make a decision while remembering how much I have sent back and not kept this year as they have made money out of me
If I stick to this then I should make it. I'm going to write it down and put it in my purse so I see it at all times

Bumping my little list of things to do

[STRIKE]Christmas chutney[/STRIKE] - 12 jars made for me, presents and to sell
    Pickled cabbage
    Pickled onions? (sm jars)
Finish off crab apple vodka and sloe gin
    Chilli pepper jelly

    Baking and stuff to do
    Christmas cakes x 2
    Turkish delight
    Biscotti
    Peppermint creams
Flavoured fudges - coffee and walnut, rum and raisin
    Nut and caramel pinwheels
    Granola

Just need to work out what to use the damsons for - pickles, jam or chutney?

Now have half a red cabbage salting ready to pickle tomorrow. Not a very strenous job at all and was going to use a whole cabbage until I saw how much half was shredded!

Thought I would do something to keep me busy instead of feeling sorry for myself. Only thing left to do is wash the cabbage tomorrow and cover in vinegar. Not hard work at all and will use up some of the jars.

Took Mr Dog out on a longer walk this afternoon to get some fresh air in the afternoon sun before the sun disappears for winter. He is now resting and I'm tired too.

    NSD 11/15 today

Note to self: page 25 for ingredients and instructions

Salts, scrub and melts order is £26.23 with £5.25 p+p = £31.48 for everything for 3 people.

    Cost per person = £10.49
