I'm feeling pretty positive today which is nice

2 NSD in a row and hung in today to make sure I got one and didn't cave in for a coffee

Feel pretty determined to budget away this month and get back on track with a few financial aspects.

Will go for a run tomorrow afternoon, go shopping and stick to a list rigidly, clean as per usual and make a batch of chutney, put a loaf onto bake in the BM and finally stick some crab apples on to make the final batch of jelly

Sunday is then finish off cleaning day, HHI and garden clearance away

All alongside eating some lovely meals and looking forward to my first circuit class for a long long time and it's outside!

    Exercise plan
    Sat - run
    Sun - day off
    Mon - run
    Tues - day off
    Wed - circuit
    Thurs - day off
    Fri - run
Sat - day off or run
    Sun - run or walk

  • Bleurrggh! Have woken up with cold kicking in after feeling like it would for the last few days. Oh dear just when I have paid for my circuits class next week. Let's hope it clears up soon.

Might not be running this weekend unless I feel a lot better tomorrow

Shopping is done - stuck more or less to the list. Just a couple of deviations. Spent £25 less as a result. Very pleased with this! Must keep at it for the rest of the month.

Also tried out Mr M for a change who didn't have everything but quite a lot of things were quite a bit cheaper which was surprising and means I will go back. Also decided to start collecting a few savings stamps - by rounding up to the nearest £5 or £10 - £3 today to start off. Also filled up with liquid gold, at least that painful job is done for another week and a half (or longer!)

Washing is out on the line attempting to dry and I'm watching the athletics with a cuppa to try and feel better.

Might attempt some courgette chutney making later on and do a bit of tidying up. Also making courgette lasagne for tea to use up the giant courgettes!

Then its onto working out how to use the turnips up in something I like to eat!

LR and BR cleaned and tidied and now sparkling. Just waiting for the kitchen and bathroom floors to dry now then it's onto cleaning the kitchen. Must remember to put the jelly onto start tonight too. Hoping to take the dog for a nice long walk in a bit when the floors dry

Leaving the bathroom until tomorrow and the ironing then all done for this week

Felt better this afternoon and went for a lovely early evening walk with the dog for an hour and a half, just a light sprinkle of rain!

Prepared courgette lasagne before I went so it could go straight in the oven when I got back and very nice that was too! Way nicer than I imagined and not too calorific. However the garlic bread and strawberry tartlet were! At least the garlic bread is now gone and can no longer tempt me and it frees up the tiniest space in the freezer.

700 kcals over for today - but hey having today off! Back on track again tomorrow and all week. Will see how I feel tomorrow and see if I feel up to a run or not. Or leave it completely for this weekend and go on monday. Why do I feel guilty if more than 2 days pass without running? The exercise habit must be well ingrained by now!

Interesting find on the diet plan today.

Swapped breaskfast for 2 slices of toast, butter and 1tsp marmalade - turns out this is 2g more fat than bran flakes, milk and 1tsp sugar and less calories. Also found this with steak and courgette lasagne with cheese is less than the steak!

The jelly is ready and waiting to go after I have bathed the dog (he is not looking forward to this!) and cleaned the bathroom and one the ironing. Should get most of this done by 9am. That's what happens when I don't have a drink all weekend. I wake up bright and early and ready to go! Forgot about this as had a drink every weekend last month.

    Back later

    Dog bathed
    Bathroom cleaned
Jelly made - not great but its done and only cost sugar
Nipped out for some chutney ingredients and few bits and pieces forgotten yesterday
    Ironing all done

Just need to get on with the chutney now and all doen for this weekend - if only it was fine then could get on with the garden and hang the washing out

Should be quite a relaxing afternoon all in all which is a nice change!

Chutney on the go now - looks like enough for 3 x 500ml jars. Still have 1/3 of the final courgette left! Boy those monsters made a lot.

    4 portions of courgette tart
    3 portions of courgette lasagne
    3 jars of courgette chutney

2.5kg Crab apples made 5 jars of jelly 3 spiced and 2 plain and 1 of each 1/3 full

1 free bag of bramley apples made 8 jars of cider apple butter and 6 jars of apple chutney and final one went into todays chutney

Not bad from all free ingredients! Good result there
