  • Had a great overnight stay in the Lakes - long drive there and back of course but it was a great time in the very autumnal weather!

Spent a lot of time wet through in waterproofs outside and had a couple of lovely walks even though the weather was very mixed indeed and some torrential downpours. Walked 7 miles today and about 3 yesterday at the most so will update the diet plan with this and the great meals I had (weekend off the diet!)

Back to the grindstone tomorrow and planning a run after work then circuits on Wed and maybe a another run in the week at some point. Also need to sort the apples out to use up and attempt to clean the clothes from the weekend back to looking good again

Fitness levels good on the walks this weekend - nice to see the running paying off at long last.

Need to keep it all going to aim for some high peaks next year and another long distance path if I can squeeze a week in some where over the next year!

  • Whoops! just ordered a rather beautiful pair of pearl earrings - a treat for my birthday present to myself. They can go back straight away if they don't match up to how they look so no loss there. They were a great price however.....

I love pearls even though I hardly wear my earrings as the posts and backs aren't a very good match but these are a gorgeous evening pair. If I ever get to go out ona night out again!

  • Oh boy is the wind strong here today and tonight. At least my washing managed to stay on the line today and was very fresh and dry when I returned home after work expecting to see it scattered around the garden! So will be attempting to dry some more tomorrow which is washing away now. Heavily pegged out on the line!

Had to do some emergency watering today of frazzled plants from the lack of rain - even though we had a lot last week? Oh well lets see if they can be rescued.

The NSD have gone a bit off the rails this week after a hot chocolate was bought today and a spendy weekend.

If the wind drops tomorrow I will go out for a run, attempt to do some cleaning, get some ironing done and cook some tea. All after work and dog walking. Can I do it? Of course I can!

  • So much for doing anything after work. Have started coming down with a cold so its off for an early night and a horlicks for me after cutting up some more reduced fish portions for the freezer. Nipped into Mr T for some milk and swung by the reduced section and collected prawns for tonight's tea and a big piece of salmon fillet and haddock to freeze for some easy teas in the next few weeks

Looking forward to a nice casserole at the weekend to try out a recipe from my new book.

Hope I feel better soon as have a long walk in the hills planned for the weekend

  • Ok, cold and sore throat kicked in today feeling rubbish. Came home early to see if resting and sleeping will make it go away. While at work was given 2 more large bags of apples to use - printed off a few recipes to try out at the weekend when I find some more jars to use.

As I seem so susceptible to colds I think I better start taking some multi vits. First, use up what I have then take multi vits after for a boost.

On the way home called in for some lunch at Mr B's and looked at their 75% off summer swimwear section and bought the following
hat £15 reduced to £3.75, folds flat and is a nice floppy straw hat ready for a sunny and hot holiday next year
Tankini top £16 reduced to £4
Matching bikini bottoms £12 reduced to £3 both in a nice mix of black, pink and lime green
    RRP £43
    Total spend £10.75
    Saved £32.25

Going to have a very loungy afternoon not doing much at all
