2 rooms cleaned - bedroom done, bedding changed and washed (and not dry!), living room all clean and candle now burning away.

Having a very relaxing day for a change which is good. Must have needed a day like this! Very grey day here with drizzle on and off. Think tonight I'lk do some proper costings for the bath salts and stuff to see which combinations to buy in for cost effectiveness then start to make some present lists up to see what I need to get over the next few months to spread the cost

Looking forward to some time off at the end of the month - 2 and a half weeks to go!

Trying out a new recipe for tea - tabbuleh, chicken drumsticks in some kind of HM marinade and then poached apricots for dessert - nice!

How far did I get this weekend?

This is the list left over - first 3 are for Monday
    1. pay CT
    2. pay into SPC £20
    3. send form back
    4. find some cheap apricots for jam making

    Sunday list
    [STRIKE]Clean kitchen and bathroom
Make something nice for tea and poach apricots
    Do HHI
Go to nature reserve with the dog
    Do garden clearance[/STRIKE]
    Wash dog blankets
    Pay CT
    [STRIKE]Pamper time
    Try for a 2nd NSD in a row[/STRIKE]

Did get 2 NSDs this weekend for the first time in ages
Have a rather nice smelling casserole cooking for tea in a couple of hours which I'm looking forward too after weeks of eating lots of fish

Had a quick tidy up in the garden as it was too showery to do much, picked some beans to have with tea and a quick check over everything else. First courgette should be ready this week :D

Nice walk around the nature reserve luckily avoiding any showers. Nice to go somewhere different in the summer cloud and sun!

Will be costing up the bath salts tonight as didn't get around to this last night and pop the costs into my presents book to see what is best to buy.

Tomorrow will be payments day, post day and work day and run day as I tackle the next set of intervals on the training programme.

    Bath Salts etc costings

Just priced up the bath salt making and foot scrub and also found a lip balm recipe

    10 jars of organic lip balm = £19 / £1.90 per 15ml jar
6 jars of foot scrub = £2.28 approx per 250ml jar
9 jars of bath salts (lavender/menthol/rose) = same price

Prices might come in lower as can combine costs of salt for larger cheaper bags

    Then later on

£13 to make 15+ bath melts = 86p per melt

Who knew these had such a mark up in the shops?

Shop markups will be even higher as they'll get the ingredients cheaper, but remember, they have a whole supply chain to support - manufacturer, distributed, wholesaler, retailer and possibly other steps in between.

    Hi Lady Pips!

My life will be none stop come Oct - Aug 2012 - work FT, thesis to write, 4 module to attend and pass with assignments and exams so need to start the planning now and be busy and enjoy some time off from the studying. Head can't pick up studying again until I go back. No motivation to start early after such a hard first year. This time next year will nearly be over and done with then will get life back again so I sympathise with you completely!

I found some bloomin' brilliant gardening trugs today in Mr T's for the bargainous price of £1.25 each in their massive summer sale! So pleased as the cheapest one I'd found before was £8.99 for exactly the same. Had to treat myself to one too at that price. Also got some fiskars secateurs for £3.50 instead of £10 to go in the hamper and some small metal buckets with wooden handles to plant the bulbs in for 87p. And finally some more seed kits for 50p instead of £5 (more like £3.99, never seen them for £5). Really pleased with all of this and just leaves some bulbs to buy next month and some good handcream and soap to include in the hamper - nearly done!

    Totals so far
    Trug £1.25 (£9.99)
    Buckets 87p x 2 (£3.99)
    Secateurs £3.50 (£10)
    Seed kits 50p x 2 (£5.00)
    Seed kits £1.99 x 2 (£3.99)
Seed complete kit with growpot £1.99 (£8.99)
    Plant labels 49p (£1.99)
    5 x medium sized plant pots 56p (£3.99)
    Blue ceramic pot £1.99 (£3.99)
    Patio apple tree £8.66 (£14.99)

    Total cost £25.16
    RRP Total £66.92
    Amount saved £41.76
