Paid more money off the store card today and off some credit cards as well.
I can see where you are coming from, and think I might pay it off my highest credit card. It is currently on 0% and that runs out in November but that will cut more than 1/2 off it.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi found you again! Our debt had crept up £3-4K before I noticed this year after I got my new job. We had lived on a pittance for so long I think we kind of over-estimated how much my new salary was and spent loads. Tackling it again now tho - so hopefully we can continue to motivate each other to beat the debt.
I have sent you a pm too!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi all,
Well I am back from Ireland and the wedding in Italy and Ireland and have totted up my new debt balance. Am still waiting on a few figures but I think that is more or less it. I feel sick when I see it. I can't believe we have spent that much money.
Thankfully we have no more commitments until Xmas and we won't be going anywhere. We really need to put our heads down and just get on with paying this debt. This month OH got a £400 bonus but because he was so far into his overdraft we couldn't put anything into the debts. I am so sick of living like this and feel even worse that we have added so much on to the debts.
I am going to sit down tonight and have a real think about where we can make savings.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi CMD.
Sometimes we slip of the path. You've already got back on and are tackling the debt by acknowledging it. You'll be fine! Keep at it!

Hi CMD - Tuscany is gorgeous isn't it, wish I were there now - it is tanking down here!
Although you're feeling bad about the amount creeping up, at least you've just come back from a lovely holiday, hopefully you're feeling refreshed and ready to tackle it - did you come up with anything last night? You'll probably find that with just not going abroad etc the savings will happen naturallyWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Thanks SavingH and Tete for the support
Tete - Tuscany is beautiful, I really enjoyed it but my heart will always be in Spain. Would love to go back to Italy for a week next year though, maybe to the Amalfi Coast. I can only dream!
Well I think I panicked a bit after all my spending and added a bit too much on to my sig so have amended it and feel a bit better that the amount is £16750 rather than over £17,000.
OH is due his relocation money soon so we can pay off one of the credit cards and a bit of another. I will also be returning to work for 1 day a week until muy contract runs out in December so that will be more money to pay off the debts as well.
My self and OH had a good chat over the weekend. Although we want to move home, it doesn't look like there will be any jobs in his sector for quite a while so we need to take action when I finish up my job as we can't survive on just his wages.
We chatted and chatted and weighed up the options and it looks like a move back up to Scotland might be the most sensible thing to do while we are waiting to move home. We are not tied here as his company is based in Scotland and we own an apartment in Scotland and have great friends there as well. We need to have more discussions but it could be a real possibility. I also wouldn't be under so much pressure to find a part-time job and when I do we could really pay a good chunk off the debts.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
