Its bound to be hectic with moving day coming up and it will be weird as you and your OH will be in different countries chunks of the week - but at the end of the day - you've tried the other ways and it hasn't been working so now you're looking for a new strategy which takes you closer to home and family. I think that's understandable with two little ones....
You'll get thro this
Got the 0% deal so delighted with that! I will ask for a notice of correction but too tired to think about it this week......
I am annoyed with OH at the moment as his grand contribution to help us move was to pack 4 boxes. I had to organise everything else. I am just beginning to think he is very selfish and it's hard to know if he will ever change. He has no concept that I have given birth 3 weeks ago and am trying to breastfeed on demand while packing up and moving to another country. I am very disappointed in him, but worst of all, he doesn't seem to have any concept of how little he does. This week has been going into work early and leaving late. He seems to prioritise everything above meTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi CMD - I had to threaten to chuck my OH's computer out of the window when he was on paternity leave before he'd help me.... We're still together 13 years on! He has improved... some of the time....
Hope you manage to make it together thro this... sounds like you need the support from home even more.
If its any consolation I've always done the vast majority of packing... It does sounds selfish of him when you are only 3 weeks after birth and should be taking it easy but I suppose he would argue with the value of hindsight that a later moving date back to Ireland would have made it easier... Either way - hugs it can't be easy, I am sure it is very frustrating and I am sure he has no clue of what you expect of him - no matter how many times you tell him, write it down etc... In my experience men just don't remotely think like we doAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi all,
Haven't been on my diary in the longest time and my last entry was quite depressing.
Anyway - life in Ireland is going well, although it hasn't all been plain sailing. We have found a house to rent and are moving into it next week. I also have a part-time job which I am also starting next week and it shouldn't impinge on my life too much!
My debt has gone up slightly but I have made the decision to get debt free in 2012. I am owed bits and pieces of money so should be able to make some inroads into the debts in the coming months. I have decided that myself and OH owe it to our children to get debt free asap so we can go on nice days out, family holidays and not be stressed. I know I am fortunate that I don't need to work full-time so we need to put ours down and just get on with it!
Hope everyone is wellTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Great news on getting a house to move into. Hope the new job goes well, does sound like it is going to work well with the children.
Good luck with the debt busting, I am sure you can do it and the children are a great incentive.0 -
