Woooohoooo fantastic news on claering the card. Have you called and cancelled it yet?!

I'd say £200 each is generous and you shouldn't have an issue if you think about what you're spending before you pay out.

Haven't cancelled it Dinah in case Barclaycard don't allow me their credit card. Virgin are always offering 0% balance transfers and they also allow you to transfer money into your bank account so if I want to overpay the mortgage at some point in the future by a lump sum then these are a good card. The other cards will be cancelled except for OH's Tesco card as he can earn points on that!

It's not been the best of weeks for me :(

OH got run over on Monday and although he is okay and I am delighted that he is, it means there are way more demands on me at a time when I should be slowing down in my pregnancy.

Also - we were being pursued by bailiffs (unknown to us) in Reading for the outstanding sum of £11. This has now risen to £143 and OH was meant to be sorting it out as we informed them we had moved and they never told us about the outstanding amount. Anyway, due to OH's accident I have just paid it off as I don't have the energy to argue with them.

My mother was over this week and she helped me to pack and ship off 7 boxes for when me and the baby's move home in December. I think I will pack up another 2-3 boxes before the baby is born. It defo declutters the place.

    Hope everyone is well :)

Oh no, that doesn't sound good. Was he on foot? Hope he's ok.

sorry to hear about the bailiffs as well. HOw annoying. I can understand why you just paid it off, at least it's now sorted and doesn't cause you any more hassle.

Gosh, soon you'll be in Ireland surrounded by family. It'll be worth the wait.

    (((hugs))))

Hi - sorry to hear about your OH and the baliffs! Can see why the baliffs pale into insignficance compared to your OH being run over... Stay safe, calm and hope your OH recovers quickly.

Had an awful day today. We were getting ready to go to the hospital appointment for OH when I felt something down below and it felt like my water membranes. We had to get Max ready for nursery and drop him off in a cab (neither of us drive) and then get the cab to the hospital. I was so scared in the taxi and 1/2 way there OH said - don't worry I won't have to leave you long to go to my appointment (for his foot). !!!!!! - I could have been in labour and all he was thinking about was his stupid appointment. Luckily when we got there it turned out that it was a bit of a prolapse and all was okay with Speedy. I was so relieved.

So we made our way over to the main part of the hospital and it turns out OH's foot is so badly injured that the doctor that saw him today said she would have admitted him for the week last week if she had been on duty. He has broken one toe and fractured somewhere else. She reckons it will be 6-8 weeks before he feels no pain and could take up to 6 months to heal properly. I am so !!!!ed off with MIL as she knows what we are going through and never once would she think of flying over to help out. Max's creche is a 40 minute round journey (walking) or £20 a day in a taxi and it will be me who is doing that journey until I go into labour now. And we can't afford £20 a day so most likely I will have to walk it with him. My mother has just gone back to Ireland & will be back in early Sept but OH's family never pull their weight. His father doesn't even work - yet they run around after his brother all the time (he lives next door).

Then I found out that several things OH was meant to do (chase his overtime from May, pay taxes from Jan 2011 & claim his relocation expenses) he hasn't bothered to do and has lied to me saying it was sorted. We really need that money and I gathered all the receipts for his relocation so all he had to do was submit them.

I am so p1ssed off with him. I have had enough. I just feel like packing a bag and going back to Ireland. He is supposed to be looking after me and all he does is add stress all the time icon_sad.gif

Sorry to hear what a rubbish day you had yesterday.

So glad little one is alright and it was just a scare.

What a nightmare with your OH's foot , sounds like it couldn't have come at a worse time. It would be good of his family to offer tocome over and help out but some people don't seem to think of other people.

I would be really annoyed about being lied to about the money stuff too. You are trying your best to sort everything and he isn't helping.

Really hope your OH trys to sort everything out and helps as much as he can as this stress can't be doing any good.

Oh I feel so bad for you CMD, you must be having a rotten time of it, just want to come up and look after you!

Do you think that your MIL might consider coming over if you straight up ask her to help? Tell her about the scare with the baby and make it clear that you can't look after 3 babies right now (bump, Max and OH!) and you really need the help of your families.

I really don't know what to suggest about the nursery issue, are there any Mums who drive there that might be able to help with lifts there and back if you explain the problems you're having? Or can your OH call in favours from work since it's the boss's fault that he can't walk at the moment?!

I can totally understand being angry with your OH about the money stuff he hasn't sorted, why hasn't he done it when you've been working so hard to do your bit?! Is he getting any compensation for the accident? Is he off work at the minute? Most importantly does he understand how you're feeling? He can't help being in pain but he can help by putting a brave face on and support his pregnant wife!

Hope today's a better day and very glad that everything's OK with the baby. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Hi CMD - that sounds really tough... I am so sorry to hear that. Can he claim off the person that ran him over? Perhaps long term that will help. Other than that can you get lifts off people for Max or could OH look after him at home. Is he able to work? I would be cross about the paperwork too and being lied too - having said that.... I have failed to claim my expenses since April so I am afraid it is common failing....

So relieved it wasn't your baby coming early.... Hope things pick up for you soon.
