I hope you manage to work something out that makes things better for you and your family. Did you manage to speak to your boss today?

Hi CMD
Don't let her get to you.
I currently have a fab boss and the difference it has made to my self esteem and what I achieve is amazing - she is her own worst enemy and is undermining everyone's performance... don't let it get to you.... How are you feeling? At least I only have 6 weeks left to work. I am going to leave at 34 weeks!

I haven't met my midwife yet either. first she didn't contact me when she said she would then she passed me onto someone else as she had more important things to deal with (!) I'm supposed to make an appointment to see her next week but I don't know if it's worth the effort.

Thanks SavingH.
I have decided not to let her get to me at all. All the other workers havev issues with her as well so at least I am not feeling like it might be pregnancy hormones!
I have 6 weeks to go and will get as much done in that time as I can.
And you are right, I can't go back after the birth due to the cut in tax credits. Hope you are well.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Had a great chat to OH at the weekend and he has agreed to apply for compressed hours (if the Ireland job doesn't materialise by Sept) to allow him take a Friday off. He will then commute back to Ireland from Jan 2012 if he is allowed do this. He would come back on a Thursday evening and go back home on a Monday morning, so would have 4 nights with us, which would be lovely.
I think if his office refuse this then he will look for contract work.
I am just hoping it doesn't come to this and that the Ireland job works outTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

It feels great that OH is on board and is willing to do the commute. I would miss him terribly Monday-Wednesday as we always have a bar of chocolate and a cup of tea and a chat every evening but in the grand scheme of things he would probably see Max and the baby more as he would have the full Friday off.
He would move back into our old flat in Edinburgh and get a roomate. He isn't overly enamoured with this idea but can see the financial logic behind it.

That's fantastic news CMD! And like you said, with having the full Friday he'll have more quality time with you all. I really hope it turns out that way for you. Must feel like a weight's been lifted just from that talk
Was thinking of you over the weekend hoping something was being worked out.

Aw - thanks for thinking of me Cinny. It means a lot.
Yes, I do feel like a weight has been lifted. OH has noticed it as well. I would be afraid in one way to make the move home but then I think I just need to do and then things will click into place. Ireland is where I want to end up so we may as well make a move towards it now.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
