  • Hi CMD

I hope the move to Scotland goes well for you. As someone who moved yearly (while pregnant too) I can say that there is no better time than when your baby is still a baby as you don't have to worry about schools, etc. When they reach 4 and school places get scarce it makes it so much harder (not sure if this applies in Scotland or Ireland though). I think the main reason I still live where I do is because I couldn't bear to uproot DS! I do get itchy feet.

    Take care

Thanks for posting Rainbow. I hope we find out soon about the job OH applied for as I have an interview but we couldn't survive on my 14 hours a week if I got the job!

I think the lack of places for schools is a fairly universal thing. I know I have heard people talking about in both Ireland and Scotland.

I like your Daydream savings fund. It looks very healthy. Is it for anything in particular?

  • £70 paid off Virgin Credit Card. Should be able to pay a good amount off towards this tomorrow, as I am being paid holiday pay.

I am hoping my Santander card will come through soon too, so I cam transfer some of the balance away from my Virgin card, and hopefully pay that back as soon as possible.

  • £1000 paid off my Virgin Credit Card. Am still waiting patiently for my Santander card so I can balance transfer as much of the Virgin card as possible :)

Thanks Tir! That was holiday pay from work so I don't think I will be able to pay that amount off for a while again. Hopefully if OH gets that job in Scotland this will be the amount we can pay off every month. If he does get it, I doubt that will be until March though.

    How are you?

Well, I hope your OH gets the job in Scotland, fingers crossed. Are you saying you wouldn't move before March? That's when we're looking to move to Bristol, but I do have to find a job first! I had a look online yesterday and there doesn't seem to be that many options. I think I need some training, I really want to get out of just basic admin, it's so boring!!!! And I'm so much better than that.

Otherwise things are ok thanks. Bf has seen a podiatrist and though they couldn't confirm the diagnosis, he got some orthodics that seem to help so we managed to go for a lovely 6-7mi walk in the snow on Sunday. Was lovely, has been such a long time!

    Thanks Tir,

No - we could move there in Feb probably but if we did move so quickly it would probably be March before we could start paying back that amount of money per month.

Glad you were able to go walking with BF. I know you enjoy the outdoors! Is the snow bad with you?

Are you excited about moving to Bristol?

Snow is not bad here at all. Only few parts struggled when it first snowed on Friday evening. City is clear now though. But still some on the hills. Hoping to go up Pen y Fan this weekend, there should be snow there.

I'm kind of apprehensive about moving. I think it'll be great when we do it, just not looking forward the job hunting. I really want to do something more interesting/better paid, but I don't know how to get there. I think I'd finally like a proper career but can't afford to retrain...

Hope your OH gets the job CMD and that you can get to make the move soon.

Well done on the payments too! Lovely when you can get a 0% card at the right time too isn't it!
