Sorry.
I was refering to the property were selling.
The other survey was the property were buying. If that makes sense?0 -
Nothing's actually gone wrong for me, so far, but it's moving with the speed of a glacier:
June 8th - offer accepted
July 8th - mortgage approved
July 22nd - mortgage case worker comes back from holiday, finds approval in her inbox and finally sends it to my solicitor
August 4th - contracts signed (and we all know that don't mean a thing)
August 29th - seller's estate agent tells me seller is trying to prove a right of way on the property he's buying
September 8th - seller still trying to prove right of way.
I have to move out of my rented flat on the 19th, so have had to arrange to store my stuff and to go and stay with my parents.
Mortgage offer expires on October 22nd, so may well give up and find another place then. Get on with it!0 -
- We viewed a house in the last week of August, and made an offer on the spot. This was accepted the next day.
- We put in the full mortgage application on the day the offer was accepted (we already had an agreement in principle).
- We had a homebuyer's survey carried out in the first week of September. The results came back a couple of days later - everything's fine.
- The searches have been completed - all is ok.
There are no chains involved, so we are just waiting for our mortgage offer really. Apparently the valuation won't be done for around another 2 weeks.0 -
we spoke to our brooker today and they said they ere speaking to northern rock tomorrow to discuss the mortgage (we have it in principle) and we will know on friday if we have the mortgage. hopefully we will i really want this house but will have to see. we have been straight from the start and said we need to consolidate and they agreed just nervous now hope we get it.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

OK it doesn't take much to confuse me. It's just that you mentioned in your post that you were a FTB so I assumed that you wouldn't have a preoperty to sell.0 -
If your mortgage offer expires you don’t have to give up and find another property. You can ring the mortgage company and ask for an extension of the offer.0

I think the most important thing is communication. I always start off excited but by the end......well lets just say I have sprouted a few grey hairs and lost weight. It can be one of the most stressful things. Then again there are positive stories too. Just never get your hopes up until your solicitor states 'we have exchanged'.
We are still waiting for draft contracts. I wish by stressing I would lose weight....always seem to "comfort eat" and put it on!! Our buyers have had mortgage approved, we have had mortgage approved. Things just taking ages. No chain from our purchasers, no upward chain from guy we are buying from - just the 3 of us....you would have thought a pretty simple operation - but no!! I hope things happen soon coz I'll be up a dress size in no time! x0 -

Gosh, it worked. Solicitor has just phoned to say that seller is ready to exchange, with a proposed completion date of Sep 29th.
Is there a 'fingers crossed' smiley on here?0 -
