We had an offer accepted last week and so the fun begins
Anyone else at this stage?
Thought it would be nice to exchange experiances, might even be able to help each other on the way.
Good luck to anyone who is.
I am actually VERY excited about the whole process.. is this normal?
A VERY ROUGHLY Estimated moving day:
4th December (At the the latest) - Will probably be revised.

I am really nervous as I work in the industry and know what the pitfalls can be.There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0 -
We had an offer on our place at the beginning of June, found a house to buy 2 weeks ago and he found a place to buy last week. Things are moving very slowly so far despite everyone wanting it to be as quick as possible. I'm fed up with the whole thing already - we ahve 2 young children and the whole process is very stressful for me and hence them. We are hoping to be moved by xmas but even that is looking doubtful right now.0

We're FTBs too and had an offer accepted on a house last Sunday. Our vendor hasn't found a property to buy yet (that we know of!) and she's moving out of the area. DH thought that we could be moving in by the last week in October :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I pointed out that this was highly unlikely!!!!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

we've just accepted an offer on our flat, and are waiting for an offer to be accepted on a house!
I'm really excited too!
Having lived in 2 bed flat for 10 years and now moving to 3 bed house with garden, it is really exciting!!
Also 18 weeks pregnant with 2nd child, so generally exciting times!!!Leilasmum0 -
We've put an offer on a house last week, refused straight away.
Now seeing mortgage broker tomorrow to see how much we can go to, but I won't pay the asking price even if I am cutting off my nose to spite my face. Of course, if we pay £1 under the asking price it will feel like a moral victory:D
We accepted an offer on our house early part of last week and the buyers are coming round in an hour to show family round. I could have sworn they should wait until we've gone0 -
We had an offer accepted a week last Friday and they want to exchange in 28 days. They are emigrating, I am getting a BTL on current house, Mum is cashing in every investment she owns and selling her house after we move (buying a huge house together!). We were starting from a position of nothing sorted.
In the last week we have found a solicitor who has a reputation for getting things done at speed and he is working on stuff. Mum had to take our ID to him but he does all the rest via email. I have been accepted for both a residential mortgage and a BTL mortgage, paperwork and ID have gone in the post today. We have removal men coming round to give quotes next week. Mum has started selling shares, cashing in savings plans/premium bonds etc. Need to get a survey organised though - Mum forgot about that and my mortgage provider (Abbey) are just too expensive, £550 just for a valuation.
Next week both Mum and I have to get some work done on our houses, survey has to be organised.
Seems like finding half a million quid to buy the place is the easy part! The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
We put an offer in on a dream flat before we had sold ours. The vendors said they liked the offer but wouldn't take it off the market til we'd sold ours (and they'd only just put theirs on that week). So we got our place on the market asap - these were the most nerve-wracking days of the whole process..... scared that someone would snap up the flat while we tried to sell ours!
Anyway, luckily we sold our place within 4 days, the second viewer put in a offer at £1k under the asking price - fine with us
So we accepted the offer on ours, (from a FTB) and we had our offer accepted, but our vendors still haven't found anywhere themselves yet. They have indicated that they might move into rented if they can't find anywhere soon..... I so hope this is the case. If they do, it means we could be moved in 6 weeks time!!!!
We've just received our Homebuyers Report survey (and it's all good news) and someone is coming to do the one on our house next week. Now it's all a bit weird..... everything seems to be out of our hands while the solicitors do all the legal blah...... wish they'd hurry up!0 -
Had our offer accepted on a house on Thursday this week, and it's been taken off the market for 2 weeks for us to sell ours.
Had 2 viewings of ours so far, one Friday (didnt want it) and one today (no feedback as yet). Another viewing booked for Tuesday.
Fingers crossed!0
