Just a word of warning....
we're buying a house to let... offer accepted 12 months ago... mortgage and searches in place 10 months ago... we might exchange next friday, if all goes well.
It is a simple chain, we dont have a house to sell, the person we're buying from is moving into a house that has been empty for a year... what can go wrong???
everything....
p.s estate agents lie (maybe not all, but ours do)0 -
Well my signature pretty much says it all but here goes.....
We are First Time Buyers. We had our second offer accepted on Friday 1st September.
The solicitor has all our signed documents and verified ID. Haven't heard from our broker or mortgage company yet with regards valuations and home buyers survey, I'm hoping that we will this coming week.
Don't really want to get the solicitor to start any searches until the valuation and survey gets done.
We've been given an estimated completion date of 3rd November but I don't really mind if it takes slightly longer.
We're in rented and our vendors are emigrating to Oz.0 -
Offer accepted at the start of July. Seller has just found a house. Everything is going really slowly, by the time I have moved in I will probably want to move somewhere else.0

After 3 houses falling through and getting an offer accepted last Wednesday - my advice - PRAY EVERY NIGHT THINGS GO THROUGH! And try not to get your hopes up too much as things do go wrong and it's so shattering when they do.
After so much bad luck I just hope things will go through this time.
Hope everyone here has good luck with their purchases! : - ))0 -
Hiya
We too are in the process.
Offer accepted 9.8.6 and no survey yet, no mortgage offer or anything from my solicitors, and I was so hopeful that we would be in by the end of the month. Fat chance.
However I expect LOTS to happen this week.
Stay tuned ......0 -
Yep, ftb - had an offer accepted on Friday on the condition that the seller wants to have completion in 3 weeks.
My solicitor seems relaxed about this. I am panicking.
Now the seller wants me to up my offer for the fixtures and fittings, but I really don't need some of the things in there - so I'm going back today to have another look and see what my best offer is.
I am talking directly to the seller, which is quite interesting, but in some ways I wish it was all being done for me. The house is vacant and I am in no great rush, but hey I may be in very soon.
My only worry at this stage is if the seller pulls out after I commit money to surveys and the like.
Ahh well, we'll see.0 -
vicky you know my situation.. my house is empty ive already moved .. my buyers have buyers who are renting and can move anytime.. and its 5 weeks now and they talking a date of the 11th october for completion.. so that would be 9 weeks and no chain either end..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
Hi I'm new to all this.
We had an offer accepted on a converted bungalow (no onward chain, the seller moving in with family) on the 6th August subject to us selling our flat, which we did 8 days later (15th Aug). We were already mortgage ready (my Husband works for the bank) so to date our mortgage has been offered and the survey was fine, our buyers mortgage has been offered and survey was fine. We had draft contracts (fixtures and fittings etc) for the bungalow and draft contracts have been issued to our buyer. We've also had the land registary details back (names on the deeds etc) and the plans.
We guess now we are waiting for the final local authority searches and our conveyencers enquires.House purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.
Hang in there everyone it is worth it0 -

What are the things that can go wrong? We are waiting to exchange and I am just interested to know what could go wrong (as my hopes are well and truly up at the moment) as this might prepare me for if the worst were to happen......0 -
