Where did you get the idea from that the car is completely free? if it was completely free, then tose people with the motability cars would also have the £50 cash per week in their hands.
How much does someone with a motability car have to find out of their own pocket per week? That's right nothing. That makes it a free car in my eyes.
Suggesting that it isn't free because you have to give up the £50 a week BENEFIT in exchange is the logic of the madhouse. After all it is a choice isn't it? You can keep the £50 and stay in the house if you want to.0 -

For some it isn't a choice. And many do have to pay for adaptions and advanced payments too.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

There are always cars available with no advance payments. My neighbour had the adaptions done free.
You are wriggling now.
I bet there are very few (if any) people with a motability car that would want the scheme scrapped and they just get the £50 a week. But there is always the choice for everyone. Do tell me who it wouldn't be a choice for?0 -

Insurance
Road tax
MOT
Servicing & repairs
Petrol
HP on the car
Not a bad deal indeed for £50 per week*SIGH*0 -
Whereas normal drivers pay for:
Insurance
Road tax
MOT
Servicing & repairs
Petrol
HP on the car
Not a bad deal indeed for £50 per week
i never said it wasnt and for a young driver aswell concidering insurence costs are min of a grand the last time i looked was a while ago , being a young driver you are restricted to cars you can drive i read but i do think that is fair but you dont get time towards no claims
i will say some of the costs of addaptions are high depending on needs, even a wheelchair host was about a grand alone and not as if there always transferable to the next car for some people if there needs change0 -

Yes IF they meet the criteria without embellishment and exaggeration on the claim forms. If they manage to complete the forms without CAB or DIAL to manipulate the information to include all the 'buzz phrases' etc.
I asked Dial for assistance once to complete an AA form for my husband. It never got sent as neither of us could honestly agree with the way the DIAL representative manipulated the given information to skew the information towards a favourable (to my husband)result.
I'd not be at all surprised if a lot of people whose forms are completed by external organisations get refused when they have to have a medical.0
