Every benefit should be included  Tories haven't gone far enough imho.

How have they not gone far enough, if DLA fraud is 0.5 percent, and they are removing 20 percent of claimaints....

They are removing 19.5 percent to many !
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

Some people might be well enough by 2013 to not have the current and care / mobility needs they have.

Do you really think the fraud rate will go up from 0.5 percent to 20 percent in three years?

What's getting better and coming off benefit got to do with fraud? In 3 years' time, some claimants will be well enough to come off their DLA. Either because their condition changes or because of the advances in medicine.

You quoted my post about fraud rates... and talked about people getting better..

If someone gets 'better' then their condition has changed.

If they do not inform the DWP, then they are committing fraud...

At present, people are getting better and coming of DLA even now, fraud is at 0.5 percent, why in 2013 would 20 percent of claimaints suddenly be committing fraud (by not informing the dla of a change of circs) if its not happening now?

No, its the opinion of the Treasury (who set the target of 20 percent to be removed) and the office of National statistics/DWP who publish the fraud rates.

Where have the DWP said that the fraud rate in 2013 will be 20%, hence tem trying to get those 20% off DLA?

The DWP are claiming they need to assess people on DLA because of fraud.

The 2010 budget has set out the target for removal of 20 percent of DLA claimaints.

can dig out the link to the budget doc if you require that states the target ( planned in advance before anyone is even tested)

They're making it harder (from what I've heard) to claim. They haven't implied (from what I've heard) that the 20% who will be kicked off are committing fraud.

Do you have a link that says 20% are committing fraud?
