Do the have the same type?

No, Ryan has Asperger's, motor tics & Klippel Feil.

Liam has ASD, Dyspraxia, motor & vocal tics, I think it's the tics that get him teased so much at school but when he is really anxious they are so much worse & he can't control them.

Ryan is higher functioning & doesn't seem to be able to tolerate his younger less functiong brother at all.

Liam is very immature & annoying (for all of us) but that is just the way he is & he can't help it.

Ryan calls Liam a retard & punches him when he annoys him.

I feel so sorry for Liam cos he already get's bullied at school & then he get's the same treatment from Ryan when he comes home from school. :(

Someone I know has an Autistic kid and gets a car on the Motability scheme because she gets DLA for him.

I find this really odd as AFAIK (correct me if I am wrong) you need to get the Higher Mobility component to get on the scheme. To qualify for the level I read that you have be Unable or Virtually unable to walk.

Yet only yesterday her son was running round the car like a maypole and all over the front garden before getting into the funded vehicular conveyance. In fact when ever I seem them he is running around and certainly doesn't seem "virtually unable to walk". Unless being able to run around constantly is seen a not being able to walk.

You can also get HRM if you're deafblind or have severe mental impairment (SMI) with behaviour problems and receive HRC.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Maybe that is the criteria he falls under then.

Perhaps Autism is a severe mental impairment. Maybe Breast Cancer Survivor can shed some light on this?

I'm not bitter at all. As all his care needs are met for free then we can use the AA to pay for taxis etc and we do. I think it is great that a man who had an extremely poor upbringing (deserted lone parent mother, lived in London through the blitz, no child benefit or tax credits etc) can actually have a bit of comfort and luxury.
He tells me the first time he ever had underpants was when he was given them in the Army.

However when I read people posting who are desperate to upgrade their awards by quite honestly exaggerating their problems then it does make me extremely cross. Sh thinks she should get high rate care, exactly the same as a quadriplegic person would get. Perhaps there should be more tiers to the awards? DLA is becoming for the greedy, not the truly needy.
Go on Sh show me, where in this post I left out the luxuries. Comfort = care from Kriss. Luxury = taxis or maybe you are seeing something I am not?

How convienient that you left off the bit about her talking about luxuries.

Some of my DLA is actually given to my parents for them to care for me.

You would have to be severly autistic to get High rate DLA.

She said 'luxury', that's why I used the same word. Perhaps you need to read it again, I don't. I know what it says and I understand it. If you want to try to justify it too then go ahead.
No I don't need to read it again, however i do wonder if we are all reading the same post? i have no need to justify how Kriss spends her AA. Just exactly the same way many on this board screeh like banshees' when you are asked to justify your DLA.

I get middle rate care for myself & my 2 sons but we all only get lower rate mobility.

Somedays they can't be in the same house let alone the same room, it really is that bad & I don't understand why they can't understand exch other better considering they both have autism. :(
