One of my previously cooked meal portions.

Or just some spaghetti with a sauce of one finely chopped garlic clove in some olive oil. Sometimes, less is more.

PS. Mind you, a nice glass (or two) of Piemonte red or a decent pinot grigio - white or rose - helps!
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
  • Cheese on toast, or sausage sandwich, on white bread, with mustard & loads of tomato sauce!

    yummy..

  • If I can't be bothered, nothing.

Otherwise probably a bowl of porridge or something equally as unexciting. I am trying to save the pennies you know, so a takeaway is out!!

Smart price curry noodles with bread and butter! Yummy - this is also our night before payday meal too!!!
  • Kedgeree

Preheat oven to 170 C whilst finding ingredients

    8 oz rice
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cumin
1 tablespoon vegetable oil or a knob of butter (optional)

    A good pint boiling water

    Frozen peas or beans
    Fish from the freezer

Microwave fish for 1 minute whilst kettle boils. Put everything in a casserole dish (snip fish onto top), cover and put in oven.

While this cooks (not sure of timing) boil some eggs, or not, if very lazy. After about 20 minutes, kedgeree should be done. Shell eggs, if using, and pile onto plates
  • 1 tin of Asda Smart Price Minced beef and onions
Half a jar of Asda 5p curry sauce
    Rice

alternative - swap a tin of Asda SP Stewed steak for the minced beef and onions

With the remaining half a jar of 5p curry sauce I'd add it to a tin of Asda SP Chunky chicken and have it with pasta.

Another of my lazy meals is boiled potatoes and Bisto parsley sauce.

Packet of filled pasta (spinach and ricotta) boil in salted water with drop of oil in it. Drain, put back in saucepan, add tub of ready made sauce, heat, serve with a sprinkle of grated cheese. Takes about 4 mins and is really filling but not very economical so only do it when I am really worn out!!
    Slightly bitter
