  • Kidcat - Here's wishing you strength for dealing with all the fall out. It sucks when you're going through a break up but you will feel SO much better when you come out the other end!

    --

I'm making the most of the weather to hang my washing out outside. The nappies drying indoors are still damp after 3 days. I'm starting to suspect that we may need more disposables soon as we use those when we go out or when we run out of dry terries. I have about 30 terry nappies and 12 pre-folds but DS gets through around 18 a day & if they don't dry in 24-48 hours we run low! Should be easier once the heating goes on but those Autumn/Spring stages where it's too wet to dry outside and too cool to dry indoors are likely to prove costly!

I'd been getting quite depressed as I thought my milk supply was drying up. I'm having to supplement DS two to three times a day with a 5oz bottle of formula. I used to get 7oz total when I pumped and now only get 2oz & thought that was the beginning of the end. Thankfully I googled it and http://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/pumping_decrease.html says that 1/2oz to 2oz total is perfectly normal for a pumping session! I'm so glad as I really want to keep up breastfeeding for as long as possible and he's only four-and-a-half months old. I don't mind supplementing when necessary, I just want to make sure he's getting SOME breastmilk!

  • Hugs Kidcat, take it steady and look after yourself x

I found 2 pairs of decent dark work trousers today in the charity shops £6 for them both - just what I was looking for and no scratchy polyester in sight :)

There was also a lovely pair of flat pale pink leather Next boots (sounds horrible but they would have looked lovely with jeans) but unfortunately they were too small.

I also managed to pull the zip out of my favourite jeans this morning so that will be the target for my next outing - I want to see if I can get some nice ones for under a £5.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Katie - chocolate concrete is like a brownie but harder on top.
    here's the recipe:-
    Chocolate concrete
    100g margarine
    2 eggs
    100g cocoa powder
    1 lb self raising flour
    100g sugar

melt the margarine and sugar and mix well till it goes syrupy
add flour and cocoa to the syrup on the pan mix well until its becomes stiff .
add two beaten eggs and gently mix them in until your mix softens.
place the mixture into the tray, press into the corners and flatten into the sides of the tin.
Please in the oven (gas mark 5)and leave for about 30-45 minutes. If the top feel hard take it out to cool. Cut up into slices as when its cool its quite hard to cut. It should be hard on top and moist in the middle.

MMMMMMMM..... sounds fabulous. I see a chocolate weekend on the horizon!!! :p

About that survey Mardatha....saw one a few weeks ago which said that food in ROI costs 30% more than EU average....never done a shop in UK so can't comment on prices but think that a lot of surveys are inaccurate to say the least.

Am sitting here numb today, as yesterday I asked OH to leave, and he did. I have suspected stuff for months (really long dog walks - which tooks ages to get ready for, money going missing, alays late from work, no phoning home during the day, the lsit goes on) but yesterday got the maiden a nd hoover tangled up and caught his dog walking coat, which tipped onto floor and out popped a recipe for a mobile phone sim and top up. As he has a fully paid contract which he never uses anywhere near all his allowance on he has no need to have a PAYGO phone too. I asked him about it when he came home and he kept coming up with even more implausible excuses, and I pointed out that he really needed to go with the truth in order for us to get anywhere. He refused so I asked him to leave.
Havent told the kids yet, and he hasnt been in contact since. So not really sure what happens next. :(

Kidcat - so sorry. That must have been so hard for you. Take your time while you decide what to do from here.

Hellsbells, re cat food, the only thing is tinned or dried cat food is nutritionally balanced so you need to make sure the cat doesnt have the same thing for days on end as the can get a deficiency but by the sound of it you have a great balance there. If you ask at the supermarket fish counter they may give you the scraps from trimming fish - you never know.:)

Kidcat you are a strong and capable woman and I hope all goes well for you. Its not easy what you have done but the only person who can decide on your life is you. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Well guys Im feeling wonderful but scared - CCCs has put together a debt recovery package and its all systems go. No more threatening phonecalls reducing Dh to a wreck. I cannot praise CCCS enough, their advisors are so nice and everything is done fast and professionally. So Im just hoping this is the new start we have been waiting for. :T

Yep, he pees a LOT! He also has a trick of doing it three or four times in quick succession. I think the record was five changes in twenty minutes! He likes to pee and then cry to be changed and then pee again as soon as he's nice & dry!

kidcat, so sorry that things haven't worked out in your relationship, it probably doesn't feel like it now, but you are so much better off dealing with his betrayals now than pretending that they aren't happening and putting up with it, all the while knowing in your very soul that your relationship with him is a sham.

It is so very very hard, but god-willing you will find the strength you need to move forward with your life and be all the better for doing so.
