Not that im sticking up for them as id gladly have a large slab of the carrot cake but a lot of playgroups/schools arent allowed HM goodies anymore. Everything has to be pre packed from Iceland due to allergies, health and hygiene.
Your kitchen (although im very sure is clean) hasnt been inspected by EH. Im sure there would have been a much better way of telling you though
Now if your anywhere near my carrot cake is my favouriteMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

What is subscribing to a thread? What's the difference between that and just reading and posting which is what I do? I'm not very good with tecnical things and can just about navigate myself round the threads and post but not all the extra stuff like signatures and changing fonts etc.
If you subscribe and click on the email notification, it emails you when someone replies to a post.
Flowertotmum - I'm speechless:eek:Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Flowertomum they don't deserve your cake! I know lots of places do have food hygeine/nut allergy contamination type concerns but they could have been nicer about it. Let them have their rubbish, shop bought, preservative filled cardboard whilst you have delicious HM cake to eat! I hope your little girl is feeling better.
All this has made me really want carrot cake! We got loads in the veg box so I think I'll whip one up at the weekend for next week's lunchbox treatOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Today I will mostly be making fruit and nut cake (with whisky in it) and chocolate cake. If I don't eat the chocolate first, that is!One life - your life - live it!0

Flowertomum - how awful! Must admit, I would have cried over that but I am a real sensitive sally
I believe life is a mirror and a magnet bringing to you what you give out and these 'erm, ladies' will most certainly be getting grief and ugliness into their lives soon if not already.
Anyway, it's against what I believe in to wish anyone ill will, and that can be very hard, but what I do say to myself in these kinds of situations is 'I hope they get everything they deserve'.
HTH, and chin up hun! I lovvvvvvvve carrot cake!!!!!0 -
Just attempting to catch up again.
Flowertots mum not sure what kind of group it is.
Our playgroup allows hm cakes infact encourages it but most ladies better bakers than me.
The primary has regular bake sales.
However both preschool and primary do not allow birthday cakes due to allergies more so than health and safety they use a wooden cake, sing happy birthday with candle.
They also not allowed to share or swop packed lunches.
Im wondering if maybe its more informal group.
I used to meet up with group of ladies I met in antenatal class after my 1st we used to take it in turns each others houses they always made me feel crap because i rented, called my baby fat and generally very snobby and judgemental so when I went back to work made my excuses and try and avoid them since.
Havent had courage to joint local nct as they seem bit scary and up themselves too, do attend the nct sales.
Did try to make freinds 2nd time round but dident click.
rarly go toddlers
used to go feeding freinds at clinic they were freindly bunch.
I think surestart runs groups but never been.
On a downer today babys 1st birthday brought her presents but havent managed to pick them up yet.hubbys in work all day.no freinds or family coming round just feels bit depressing anti climax think she deserves better.
Going to make sandwiches, crisps and cake later need to get some eggs.
babys grouchy this morning anyway and 4year olds been naughty.
4year olds got gym later thats it, need to go corner shop, looks like rain.
Feeling very sick this morning so hoping be better 2nd trimester.
Having huge problems with chest freezer makes me sick whenever I open it, fridge has similar effect.
Cant face eating much and can only drink water or coca cola.
had dominioes for lunch yesterday but was sick.
did manage to make 5jars of bristol chutney with stuff from garden and freinds apples.
feel bad as love cooking but cant right now and havent foraged in last month need to get some hazlenuts and blackberries.

Flowertot mum, I am gobsmacked!!!!!!! what a shower of b i t c h e s. If it was a food allergy thing and they had any manners one of them could have taken it home or they could have put it in the bin and you'd have been none the wiser. I'm afraid I would think they are trying to exclue me too, if that were to happen. Except it wouldn't as the women I know would be impressed with a home made cake. So sorry this happened to you, what rude people, just as well their kids aren't at the same school, would you want your child to be friends with children who've been raised with such bad manners! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Go to the top of the posts part of the page and on the green bar you will see "thread tools", beside "search this thread". Click on thread tools which gives you a drop down menu and at the bottom is "subcribe to this thread" et voila! You can keep an eye on what threads you are subscribed to in the user CP, also at the top of the page, on the green bar above the thraed one.
