I bumped up a mackerel/kipper recipe thread earlier as, apart from smoked salmon every now and then as a treat, we don't eat much fish... except fish fingers
I made smoked mackerel pate with pre-packed fillets, Mr T Value soft cheese (like philly), some lemon juice, S&P and it was lovely - even one of DDs enjoyed itDidn't use a recipe, just bunged it in. Will make this a regular in my house from now but really want to include MUCH more fish into our diets.

Tuna surprise??!!
Skint but happy with my lovely family
Hypnotherapy rocks :j0 -
Julie - you have a very impressive fish list already. I know we should be eating more fish, but I get so concerned when I see their prices! So I end up buying a pack of frozen large prawns, and putting a few here and there, like thai green curry, paella, etc. I'm going to buy some smoked salmon trimmings this week as I read somewhere on the OS board that they are about 79p.
Frugal - woooo that sounds right lovely! I may have to add those things to my shopping list! thank you0 -

They recommend 2 portions a week, 1 high in omega 3!
I struggle with two only because it's so expensive to buy fish!!
So we have Tuesday as fish night, and every second week we have it at the weekend too!!
I recommend Salmon Spaghetti... it's two tins of chopped tomatoes, heated with garlic.... when the pasta is nearly done, add a large win of Salmon, some Tabasco and some crushed chillis...!
My Husband and Son LOVED it!
It went down a treat! And I go 6 Adult portions from itWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -

I have a similar "student's meal" (lord knows I've been a student long enough)
1 pack of cheese source (powdered ones) or make your own white/cheese source.
1 tin of tuna
black pepper
served hot on a bed of rice. It looks like erm, bleh, but it is delicious and soooooo conforting0 -
