hey frugal and pink, I'm still here too... sat here with some wine and a freebie candle...
Skint but happy with my lovely family

Not sure atm months, rather than weeks
My sister struggled the same... 2 young children, husband in the army... 8 months he was away... and she found the evenings the hardest!
When I was a single mum... so did I... I'd sit in the dark with the music on the radio... looking out in the dark... then resorted to chatting online for company... and it helps! We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Oooh I don't cook very often with fish, I don't really know what to do with it other than poaching the white sort in milk... yawwwnnnnn....
I like it though and DH often buys it when it's going cheap = lots in the freezer...Skint but happy with my lovely family

Julie - those rules seem hard, but I can see how they would make you be very inventive and find new recipes! I wish I could be that disciplined at cooking. going for 6 weeks without doubling up with simply super human. I tend to be very lazy and if we find a new thing that we like, I'll cook it again quite soon, you know, just to 'get it right'
I currently have one cat at my feet and one on my laundry pile (of course) and they are both SNORING...0 -

you can do so much with fish (then again I'm Japanese, so I'm prepared to eat it raw if it's really fresh!!)0 -

STOP!!! you're making me hungry and I've just eaten!! (can you please let us know the next time you make the prawn skewers? I may just find myself 'happen to be in town' around then)
Trout wrapped in foil with lemon and herbs baked in oven is also nice.
smoked fish (any) cooked in rice with dill is also very yummy, you get the smokey-ness in the rice.0 -

I used to cook the same 5 things every week... and got fed up!
It seems hard... but since Jan I keep a list (With headings for Chicken, Beef, Pork, Fish and Other) and just list everything...
When I do my meal plan for the week I highlight each week off with a colour... and then after 4 weeks I can go back and use the old recipies... As you can see from my fish list... it's extensive now!!

Just popping in to catch up and noticed that someone was having problems with tantrums, both my sons are prone to tantrums (ASD) and I have struggled for years, but since DS6 is spending time in a specialist education unit they have been helping with techniques, and the one I am finding works best is the choice method - simply state that your DS has a choice, he can make the right choice and do as you ask or choose the wrong choice and the consequence will be ..... IYSWIM. Its effective and will help your son see that his behaviour is his choice and only he can make it. Takes a few weeks to make a difference but if you keep at it you should see rewards.0
