Wrote a post in answer to Gailey before and then lost it because it was just after 3.00 when the forums closed when I finished it. Trying to remember what I said, but know that you have my sympathy Gailey on the sickness. It's horrible, I was sick right through but still gave birth to a strapping 9lbplus baby.
On the four year olds shoes, I would take them back. They have to be fit for purpose and going after one wear is certainly not fit for purpose. I took trainers back after 6 weeks once that had gone and dd had tried to glue them herself because she didn't want to tell me. I dressed up a bit as I think they take you more serious if you don't look like a scruff, which was how I did when she came and showed me her trainers. They umhed and aahhed and said that she shouldn't have tried to glue them and I kept smiling and said I know but she didn't want to show me them because she thought I'd be mad (terrible mother) and they shouldn't have gone anyway in just six weeks. I stood my ground and got my money back. I also took a pair of Clarkes shoes back after six weeks and they were fine about it. I know Peacocks stuff doesn't last that long but one time is not good enough.
As for the babys shoes - we bought dd a pair of firm soled slippers when she was first toddling and we went on holiday so that she could walk outside a bit but we didn't want to buy her proper shoes at that point.
Hope you feel better from the giving up breastfeeding soon. I dropped a feed at a time and the last one to go was first thing in the morning. I don't think I had any problems that way.Second purse £101/100

Annie56, so glad you came back to the thread to tell us of your latest adventure. Good for you, you ex sounds like a horrible cliche, well done for getting shot of him. From one Annie to another... you go girl!!! I loved reading your post, you did a brilliant thing and should be blinking proud of yourself!
I'm trying to get myself back on the moneysaving straight and narrow after a horrendous summer which both cost me a fortune and resulted in the loss of my marbles for several weeks. I managed not to increase the dose on my crazy pills though so am quite pleased about that.
Still jobhunting, and at a loss to know why companys want to interview for a 2 month temp job.
Start of term = paying out for drum lessons, football, cubs, cricket etc... and I've somehow lost a load of paperwork so can't find my income support evidence to claim free school dinners. Hopefully they'll send me a copy.
The news has just come on with George Osbourne saying they're cutting the benefits bill. I'm really looking forward to living on fresh air....Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
AnnieG do the council/DWP not inform the school of your entitlement? I wish it was that straightforward! No, I had to fill in a questionnaire online, and they sent me a form to complete which I have to return with proof of income support and child tax credit. I so wish I'd been born with the organised gene that the rest of my family has!
Gailey... don't laugh (well, you can if you like) but appaently putting cabbage leaves on your boobs is a great help. Just make sure you close the curtains first!!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
It's been good here but I'm afraid I will have to bow out for a while as due to my own personal situation some of the things discussed at the moment are not doing me good. Cannot really explain without causing offence which I really don't mean ir want to but I'm not in a good place right now about a certain aspect of my life and it's just making me worse. I will pop back from time to time and I thank everyone for all their help, advice and kind words.'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. hi all.
what a day!!!:p:p:p
well I am now the proud owner of an 01 Renault Clio, she was my car that I learnt to drive in, in my old rosy spec coloured world I always thought ex OH owned it but now rememeber that I bought it with a tax rebate and lots of overtime, shes always been kept serviced and MOT`D, my money again so now shes back in service and will be well used but it means some real serious budgeting now if I wish to keep her.
So after all the drama of today Im the legal owner of a new greenhouse and shed on my allotment and some tools, I even took the garden canes, he wont be using them so tough!! the folks on the allotment are going to help my brother and his friend to put them up at the weekend.
My small chest freezer is safely humming away cleaned out in the pantery of my flat and the fancy bed I took is down in the Landlords cellar with other boxes and things she just went :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at what Id done.....cant believe I did it but why the heck not.
Ive been sitting at my table counting the contents of the rescued piggy bank, contents £48.01 two shirt buttons, and a safety pin and a dead fly......so i went and bought lots of washing powder and stuff at Sainsburys as mentioned in a previous post and am going to fill the above mentioned freezer with things I will need in the next few months.
I think Ive just been playing at bieng frugal now I have to get down to the reality of not having anyone/anything to fall back on but myself, its a frighteneing prospect but a challenge I shall look forward to especially in light of tonights news of even deeper cuts on the welfare bill and this dreaded spending review looming.
Jobcentre this afternoon gave me a lecture on not applying for enough jobs, bleedin cheek, in 14 days Ive applied for 24 jobs within the NHS as a midwife and nurse, caring agencies who dont want to know as Im too qualified, its expensive phoning and printing CVs and buying stamps etc...Jobcentre lady said things were changing so I said yes they are and it should start with you treating your customers with civility then I asked for her manager and Ive put in a verbal complaint that Im following up with a written one, sure things have to change but not everyone is using inemployment as a lifestyle, some lifestyle...wondering do you eat, keep warm thank goodness I dont have any children it must be hard when you have a family to consider.
Im going to plan out my allotment and hopefully be some way to be self sufficient in vegetables, and there is a lovley barter and exchange system going on amongst the allotment folk, so I have promised some trouser taking up and a victoria sandwich cake and a lemon meringue pie in return for help puting up the greenhouse and the shed...fair exchange, now I need to find a friendly mechanic and Im all set...
So tonight Im making a cake and lemon meringue pie and blowing the dust of my sewing machine and really looking forward to doing this for other folk in return for there help.
The OH rang me a moment ago....said "what are you playing at?" so i replied"Playing at, Im not playing, Im deadly serious so dont mess with me ok" he put the phone down on me, am not taking his nonsense anymore:D
Ok have a good evening all Im off to crack some eggs etc byeee
Annie56 xxTODAY I WOKE UP< LOOKED AROUND ME AND SAID TO MYSELF>> ANNIE YOUR ONE LUCKY WOMAN TO HAVE WHAT YOU HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!:D:DLive according to your means, not up to your expectations.
