Did anyone catch Watchdog last night, the bit about supermarkets? I didnt realise this but if you order online and the prices change in store before delivery, so does your online bill. That includes special offers!

Does anybody find they spend more if they shop online?
I found that I started off shopping fortnightly, then it crept down to about 10 days and then ended up weekly - but I was still spending as much as when I did it fortnightly.
I've had to go back to doing a couple of small shops each week just taking cash. Its suprising how much less I spend that way.
I have been caught out quite a few times with Mr A and Mr T with the prices changing or offers being cut short before my delivery arrived. You need to really check the list against the delivery too. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

I found your posts while having a browse around the Old Style board and had to add my congratulations and good wishes for your new life.
I sat here in stitches at your description of leaving your old home (another one who would have loved to be a fly on the wall)0 -

Had no joy in ringing and even sent a letter. Looked on the forum tonight under CTC and see that I'm not the only one who cant get through, rang a number someone suggested and call answered within 2 rings - they apologised and said they had passed on the info so now its up to help with NHS. The number is 0845 300 3600 if anyone nedds it. Why didnt I check here sooner?
HaHaHa! :rotfl: I have been trying for AGES to get thru to tell them about changes and couldn't... Tried this number... 2 rings :T:T

But when you get to the checkout stage, it flags up any offers that are going to expire before the delivery date. I tended to do my shopping to be delivered on a tuesday or wednesday and often missed out on the special offers because they'd changed on the day of delivery, however, I was well aware that I had missed them as it had told me before I completed the order.0 -
Annie 56 - Sorry, I also read it as *woke up in my own wee*.................... did give me a laugh! Well done for taking your own stuff back, what was he going to do with it anyway? Personally, I think you were very restrained!0

I do, and even then I still got caught out this week.
My A$da online delivery this week should have been £59.71. My order was delivered Wednesday and was 3 items short which were not charged for, but the delivery note said that my order still came to £59.97. When I checked, 3 of the items that I had ordered specifically because they had been "rolled back" had been "rolled forward" the day of my delivery  .......they had still been "rolled back" as recently as the Tuesday @ 4pm when I placed my order, but had been "rolled forward" by the following morning.
It's annoying when you have a budget you have to stick to. Two of the items were brands I don't normally buy, and only bought because they had been "rolled back" to a cheaper price than the brand I normally do by. It's an underhand practice in my opinion. If you know when an offer is going to end, it's up to you if you buy it or not, but if they can roll prices backwards and forwards willy-nilly, how the hell are you supposed to stay on top of the game?.......well, I'll answer myself - clearly you aren't.
In my opinion, whatever the price is when you place your order, is the price you should be charged!
I wont get caught again. It's easy to spot on special offers because it always states what day the offer ends on, it's not so easy on "roll back" items, other than, if they're going to "roll forward" (although you never know which week that will be) it's always on a Wednesday or at least that has been my experience. I'm only talking about A$da here, I've not idea what the other SM's doAug11 £193.29/£240
