I'm planning 6miles Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun next week to increase my running intervals to the point when I run it in 50mins - probably in 4 weeks time.

I did a 6 and a half miler today after work. Went really well after nearly talking myself out of going when I got in. Really pleased I went! This one was 6 x 9 min intervals with 6 x 1 min walks. Recovery much better today

  • Only did 2.5 miles today, legs felt a bit heavy.....I haven't been eating very well which always effects my running :( Oh well, onwards :) I suspect that as I had an easy day today I will find it easier to run further tomorrow. I am holding out for 8 miles tomorrow :p If I can do that I may hold back and stick to anything up to 8 miles until next week when I want to get up to 10.....

    Good running everyone.
Hope you're doing well with your preperations for the half tete. Would be nice to hear how you're getting on.
I haven't been running for awhile. I joined council's active employee scheme that includes gym,all classes, swimming and racket sports for £19.45/month and so far have been to the gym, step and circuits. I'm only doing this for couple of months to get myself back to fitness. Might try to fit couple of runs in there too.

  • I'm very irritated with myself  I've been busy today, but not too busy to go for my run, but I've avoided it today and I don't know why :( I'm going to try for a little 2 miler now, but it's almost midnight! Why oh why have I been putting it off?!?!? Grrrrrrrrrrr - well, needs must. Pity me being on a treadmill at this time when normal people are tucked up in bed

Hope you were all more successful at getting your butts in gear than me today! x

  • Good Evening all,
I started running in February and have been doing a 4 mile route (3.96 miles according to Map my run) and it took me 37mins54secs the first time and I now have that down to about 29mins average with best time at 28:12. Have also managed to lose 11lbs and am nearing the stone I set myself.

During this time have had a few illnesses that set me back.

I now need to increase the running as I have signed up for the Oxford half marathon in September and the Brighton marathon in April with a hope of getting into the London one as well.

Have done the London Marathon once and 3 Great North Runs in the past.

This club looks great, have enjoyed reading the posts and is certainly great for motivation. Good work and well done to everyone.
  • Hi Stupidboy :) (although I feel rude calling you that ;))

I did do my 2 mile run of shame last night.....I am not doing that again, so must get my run fit in today somewhere :p Not sure how far I will be going today but I'm thinking 8 miles. I'm going away next friday on holiday and have never taken my running stuff before, but I will this time and just do 3 miles a day in the early morning or late-ish evening. Anyone else gone out running on holiday? Did you find it built up your fitness so you ran better when you got home?
