well done , once you get going its always worth it!

Still hoping to finally pull off a sub 2 hr half, but failed again, although it wasn't the flattest of courses!
A 02.05.10 it was!
a minute outside PB.
now looking to increase my training and go for December!
Keep running,
it would be good to see a few new faces on here....

Hi all!
Great sparkles, back to running! How did you find it after not running but having done lots of core etc?
Thanks, mascott! And well done on your half! Nice time.
I think I could've done better if I'd done the training. Looking back on my training diary, I did 2 runs in July and 1 in August! Not really what I would advocate. Did a week's cycling in August though so that helped.
Not run since my half mara still. Was supposed to go this lunch time but weather was crap so didn't take my gear to work. Want to keep it up though and get ready for a spring HM.
Nice that this thread is coming back to life a bit.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Hi all  Haven't been on MSE since July because of life taking over for a while
Exams, residential schools etc! Back now though and you will be pleased to know that I am running too! I spent time over the summer on strength and toning too sparkles but really missed running so built that in as an extra (I get someone to do programs for me to follow but there is no running on there!). No plans to race yet but getting faster (I think due to the strength training I did over summer) so I now run at around 7-8 mph (used to run at 6 mph)
PLanning on a short run today (2 miles) followed by an hour of mixed cardio and weights

Hello, can I join in please? I need some prodding to get back out there again, I ran my first ever half marathon in March last year, knackered my knee a couple of months later by forgetting I can't run on sand, started to run again this summer and then got sidelined again at the beginning of last month when my Welsh cob knocked me flat and trampled my right foot - fortunately he didn't break anything (we think!), but it was very badly bruised.
I think I may be able to get my running shoes back on again now (wellies have stopped hurting, though my rigid walking boots are still a bit sore to put on), so I'm going to give it a go later. The plan is to do the Inverness half marathon again in March and then try my first marathon, the Loch Ness, in September next year.
My eventual goal is to run ultra marathons - I have this stupidly ambitious idea of trying the 9Bar John o'Groats to Lands End ultra, as no woman has managed to finish it yet, but I need to get an awful lot of miles under my belt first!0 -
Hi all - not posted for ages
Have still been running but tried a couple of smallish triathlons during the summer.
However I cant swim very well, just plod doing breast stroke.
The triathlons I did both had the 400m swims in a pool, however it took me 14 minutes whilst the good were doing it in 5-6 and the average 8-9minutes.
So am having swimming lessons to learn the crawlYear 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44

Well, I did it, got my trainers on and jogged a slow mile up and down the road with no adverse effects
21 weeks and 2 days until the Inverness half marathon and I have a 20 week training program, so not much margin for error!

Well done cazmanian minx! Good luck with your goals!
runninglea - I did a sprint tri early summer as well and did the swim with breast stroke, took me 10mins. Depends what tri's you doing but sometimes people can be quicker with BS than people doing FC, usually if the techinique is not good on FC. But my plan is to learn FC as well this winter.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

I was hoping the fc wouldnt take as much out of my legs - having 3 sessions a week so will have a look at it again at christmas.
