    hi there, can anyone join?

at the moment i am doing all my running on my own and have no one to share with as my OH has back problems (he used to run) and turns green with envy when i start talking about how lovely my runs are. i am very slow (my excuse is that i first started running, the middle of last year, and i was over 40), however, at the moment i am working myself up to a solo half marathon (i live in the middle of nowhere and there are no running clubs for at least 100km) and have also set myself a challenge of running 1000kms this year.

hoping that everyone is enjoying their running - i sometimes get a bit of "company" by listening to running podcasts while i am out pounding the streets and dodging the cars and escaping some of the nastier dogs that live locally.

  • Morning all,

Well, after a poor start to the year, I've started my exercise regime today. 30 Day Shred this morning and (hopefully) a run this evening.

I still want to get my 10k down to an hour by the 20th April (even though I haven't done any running for about 3 months!) so I need to keep focused. Can't have any excuses after work tonight. It's only going to be 2 miles to ease myself back in!

Hope everyone else is doing a lot better than me!

    Hi everyone old and new!

I havent' really done anything yet this year due to suffering from cold and CBA and too many other things to do.

Planning to do Shred today (hopefully I'll find it) and rest of the week will hopefully consist of one run,1-2 swims and another Shred. Gotta start moving!

fedupandskint - you are definitely the star of this thread, without you, there wouldn't be so much running here... ;)

    Too kind my dear!

I've been out again tonight for another 55min run which was somewhere between 5-6 miles. Pretty plodding but not too bad overall

Life's gotten in the way of my running/exercising. Tuesday night I had to prepare for an assesment day that was on Wednesday so no time to do anything else. Today I need to decide between Shred and running. I think it'll come down to weather...I'll let you know. I really need to start doing something! No more excuses!

    Well done for going!

I ran 8 miles tonight after work - the furthest I've ever run and this will be the same for the next few months as the distances increase! It went well and was a very steady pace

  • Ok, I have been avoiding this thread as I still haven't gone n the dreaded run outside  I am such a big baby! Seriously, I don't know what I think people are going to do to me if they see me running :o Anyway, just so you know I am still following the thread and I will be getting that run in. Outside. Or maybe on the treadmill. Well, as long as it's a run it doesn't matter where it is :D
