Hi everyone just back from break in Poole Dorset

Pile of enevelopes to open oh what joy!!!!

Ok Barclay loan account have acceptes the £5.00 a month that they will get and will review in a year

Barclay overdraft have terminated my account and have NOT accepted the offer of £40.00 per month and are sending the debt to a recovery agent.

Have not heard from anybody else at them moment its a waiting game. Have now got a thumping headache so much for going away to forget your troubles.

I HOPE NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS.

Hi there it does get easier I had same problems but did no tell my OH when it all came out it was bad but we are working things out I have set up through National Debt Line a CASHflow plan I have negotiated with my creditors its a long haul but you will become more confident no matter what they do first thing is not call them do everything in writing dont answer there calls set up a caller ID and if you must answer the phone tell them you are only dealing with them in writing as advised by your debt management advisor and hang up they will evevtually stop calling you 20 times a day and if not complain its your right not to be harrased

Thanks for the advice havent had too much hassle as yet, but I expect I will in the next couple of weeks when cc are due. I will denfinatley do that and tell them I will only deal in writing.

Hi Guys

Thought i would just chime in here. We started a DMP with CCCS on 1st Feb this year, 22 creditors and a MAJOR debt pile. Of them all, 20 accepted and stopped interest, 4 phone calls, a bit thick but not nasty, other two, Lloyds only reduced interest and Amex kept interest going. I complained to the ombusman about Amex, won the case, got all interest refunded and £50 credit for my trouble. I think it sometimes helps to speak to them, calm, assertive and to the point. Name rank and CCCS number, they can't have what you haven't got. If you can't do the calm and assertive, don't speak, do everything in writing. Knowledge is power, learn everything you can so that you know your rights and what the procedures are, then you can't be scared or worried. Good luck I hope it all goes well for you all, its not so bad, really.

Thanks for the advice I am beginning to learn ways to handle things from different people. At the moment still feel a bit worried about it all but hopefully will become better at handling things.

Its good to know I have people like you to talk to otherwise think I would go mad. Dont feel like talking to creditors at the moment, hopefully will get some more acceptance letter this week.

Just thought that I would let you know Jackie that out of our 19 creditors 9 have accepted payment scheme and ceased charging interest and charges, 1 has accepted with reduced interest, and I am waiting to hear from Mint, Citi, Halifax, Tesco, 3 Egg accounts, 1 out of 4 Lloyds, and Cahoot.
Have had no phone calls so far and when I have rung just to query something on one of their letters they have been very polite.

Had a bit of luck yesterday in that my friend has offered (and I have of course accepted)me 2 days work a week at a good wage so I can now pay our part of the bill for our eldest daughters wedding next year instead of having to use the emergency van repair fund!
So I will be busy running husbands business as well but I have more time on my hands now that I dont have to worry about juggling credit cards and bills so much now.

Has anyone had any luck with these companies?

Not had any phone calls as of yet byt have just notices an 0800 no on my phone that I dont reconise I expect that is one of them. Dont feel quite ready to talk to anybody yet

Thanks for letting me know It such a relief when they accept, bit worried about Barclays overdraft had a !!!!!! letter yesterday and say they are going to debt recovery and charging 0.51 interst daily I think it is just a standard letter.
