I have to say I am getting fed up with Woolworths ordering processes and am tempted to get a tv somewhere else.

I ordered on the 2nd October 2006 and am still waiting for an email to tell me the item is ready for collection in store.

Also, even though the website states that I would not be charged until the the order was ready for dispatch but I received my credit card statement today showing that Woolworths debited the £399.99 from my account on the 20 October!

As of today the order is still showing as 'Processing' on their website.

Unsurprisingly I have sent a message asking what the hell they are up too..

    Regards

I was tempted by this TV, but when I saw it in action in store I wasn't even remotely impressed.
The picture, quite frankly looked appalling.
Maybe it was because they were sourcing all the TVs from one DVD player or something, but it looked worse than my standard TV at home.

I saw this TV in Woolies about 6 weeks ago, and was also VERY surprised at the low quality pic, and it SEEMED to be playing direct from a DVD player (no splitter).

I then went back 2 weeks ago for another look. This time, DEFINITELY playing direct from DVD player, playing Ice Age 2. Really impressive picture!! Only complaint was that where the movie is 'fast moving' the TV pixelates a little as it fights to keep up. Just a little though (due to the 16ms response time I guess).

Anywy, I was happy enough, so I ordered. I Pick up in store 1 or 2nd December I think:T

Have you phoned the store to check if its arrived....

Woolworths debit your card when the item is dispatched so its probably been sat in the store for a month! Sometimes the system messes up a bit, not very often though! When an item is confirmed as arriving sometimes, the system prints out the documentation but doesnt trigger a text/email, this happens on the odd occassion, hope this helps
  • And goods are only kept at the store for 28 days.
Fog on The Tyne isn't mine all mine... but if I wanted it, I'd want it with a discount code.
  • Hi Folks
Dunno if this belongs here or where - no doubt someone will put me right!
I also don't know if the question has been asked before (probably) - can't hunt through 5,000 threads!

    Simple question -
    Do Woolworths use Mastercare?

We want to buy a 'cheap' LCD TV - 26/32" but I'm dead scared of Mastercare's reputation.
For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.
No one is listening until you make a mistake.

BF turned it on and it started making a crackling noise, then a pop and no life at all now! :(

We've only had it since the 7th of Nov!

Just picked up a silver model from the Clapham store in London.

Absolute bargain - compares well with my similarly speced Philips LCD TV, which cost great deal more. Doesn't have some of the clever picture enhancements, but still v good.

One issue was that when connecting to my sky box using a scart lead the picture was grainy unless I used the RGB scart lead. It appears only one output from the sky is a RGB scart. (The philips copes better with non RGB scart signals) If in doubt use high quality a high quality lead.

I'd recommend anyone who wants one to go on the waiting list of a store. They phoned me up within a couple of weeks, paid by card over the phone, and picked up a week later. Warrantyex.co.uk seem to do a 5 yr warranty for £129 although I don't know much about them.
