Thanks for the tip, Jambooboo
I have updated on Xbox Live and yes 1080p appears now!
Thanks!
Only problem is, when I select it, screen goes blank then refers back to 1080i. I am not expecting miracles here, but as other people have said it works and its good I thought I would try. Any reason why I cannot get a picture at this setting?
Cheers

so does the tesco lcd3251 support 1080p? it seems to be getting mixed reports here.0

Just to clarify, I have the WW Techno 3201, not the Tesco Techno LCD3251.
I am suspecting there may be a difference as far as Xbox 360 and 1080p is concerned.
I have tried 1080p on my Xbox 360 & LCD3201 and it don't like it. Perhaps others can clarify, including those with the Tesco LCD3251.

This TV cannot display 1080p
It does not have the resolution for it.
This TV can display 720p or 1080i.
For the XBox 360 i think you will find that 720p is a better option.
A good explanation on HD resolutions and what they mean is here:

So is there anyway to get notification of when these're available on the website? Unfortunately I cannot go to a store (broken foot!)Debts (Original 17/08/06):

i take it you mean the techno lcd from woolies? i was wanting to know if the newer techno from tesco (lcd3251) could display a 1080p source as someone on here claimed to have it displaying from a 360, i'm just too lazy to unplug my 360 from downstairs and plug it into my techno upstairs to find out for sure.0 -

Yes I do mean Woolies Techno.
Forget 1080p/1080i - although Xbox 360 displays 1080i (not 1080p) 720p is best quality picture (IMHO) - I would think because it matches native res of panel.

has anyone of you got any dead pixels on your lcd ?
i have 3 on mine and woolworths are being awkward at replacing it. (its been at their repair agent for a week now)0 -
The Tesco Techno DOES accept the 1080p input.
i had an issue with mine where i get a weird bubble like like scrolling up the screen every minute or so.. so i dont use it..
and as far as 720 or 1080 goes, i notice a big difference in the clarity when using 1080 as apposed to 720.
especially on games like burnout and test drive unlimited.0
