    No. It replaces the HOSTS file you deleted earlier...was the old one in a folder?

    no, the folder containing it was but I've deleted that and tried to put in just the host file., however, now an error message says access denied.

    Donnie, I'm really grateful that you are sat here in the middle of the night helping me. I have to be up in 4 hours for work and my brain has stopped functioning. Would you be able to carry on tomorrow night? or I'll keep looking out for when you are on. hopefully I'll get the file in. when reboot.

    And yes, in that location. In safemode. At least it's copied now, different in ie, switched to firefox years ago after an mse upgrade meant I couldn't navigate the page.
