So have you put the new HOSTS file in to it's place on the infected computer?

well, I pasted hosts where I deleted the old one, but it does say shortcut on it, does that matter?

i rclicked the link - menu popped up - chose 'save link as', had to rclick as left click just opens a download list and can't put it on stick from there - and put on stick, moved to pc and pasted in place of old host file.
