I wish I could answer back sometimes, but I'd get into bother if a customer makes a complaint about me. I'm self employed with the marketing agencies, so I'm aware I'm easily disposable if something negative happens.
Don't bother. It's what these ignorant chavs want you to do. Just smile sweetly and carry on in a professional manner. That gets their backs up far more than swearing back at them.0 -
hmmm whilst we are on supermarket rants
sympathy for you OP, i used to work for tesco's on the till's, and had great joy when people coughed and sneezed all over you because they wouldn't cover their nose/mouth, leaving me with their germs which with a compromised immune system makes higher sick days and grief from your manager.
Anyhoo my rant.
parents who do not supervise their child/children who is in the next aisle to them who thinks it's ok to play with the baskets throwing them, spinning them, get off your frickin mobile, you can chat to your best mate later, you should be supervising your brats, you wanted them bloody look after them.
If your child runs into my trolley because they were not looking, it's not me that needs glasses.
bash into me again with your basket because your gassing on the mobile and not looking where you are aimlessly wandering, feel my trolley up your !!!!.
I so love online shopping0 -

whilst on the subject of supermarkets can anyone tell me why parents insist on letting they're kids sit in them deeep trolleys yet they are able bodied to walk, i was told when i first started at sainsburys to informs customers that it was dangerous for the child to sit in the trolley in case if tipped over, well my view was that it wasnt my place to say anything as im not the parent. Is it because the child would run wild well if it is then maybe you shouldnt bring the child with you when shopping.
I do sympathise with you OP, i didnt quite experience what you have but i did get the odd customer getting they're knickers in a twist because something is out of stock at 7pm0 -

Arguments of " so she will behave herself" arent valid.
I suspect that your trolleys are kept outside where they get covered in rubbish and all sorts. The reason why kids should be sat in the seat and not loose. is due the injuries that can happen due to a trolley tipping over I have seen it happen and a child been hurt luckily not badly but all from a child trying to climb out.0 -

I hated it when I worked with the public. And it's human nature to remember the 1% of sh'ites rather than the 99% of nice ones.0

As a customer, I don't want my goods scanned with excessive speed so that you can meet your targets - and my perishables end up scrunched up at the end of the conveyor belt. If set targets are unrealistic, go see your manager. Finally, pleasant, cranky or just plain miserable, we customers are your bread and butter. Enoy us whilst you can - self-scan checkouts will ultimately deprive you of your job.Mupette wrote:sympathy for you OP, i used to work for tesco's on the till's, and had great joy when people coughed and sneezed all over you because they wouldn't cover their nose/mouth,
My nearest Tesco has the toilet by the entrance, I still remember one woman not washing her hands the going round touching all the fruit and veg.0 -
I work at Sainsbury's, and usually on Sundays. We open at 10:45 for browsing, and there are 3/4 announcements saying tills are not open till 11 due to Sunday training. I go down 5 minutes early to sign on, open up bags ect., and every week the same people ask me why I'm not scanning their goods, and hurry up.
There was a woman on Sunday who was complaining as I didn't put her card in the chip and pin machine for her, claiming that service had gone downhill, and she has to do everything (she was a pefectly capable and able person). I don't know where she's been shopping, but nobody has ever took my card off me/out of my wallet and inserted it into the machine.0
