    Hi missminx007,

As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board I've added it to the main thread on using up sausages which should give you lots of recipes and ideas.

I've always served mash and baked beans with sausages but I really want to try something different veg-wise. What veg do you serve with them? Things like broccoli just don't sound right!
  • We often serve sauages and mash with an onion gravy, carrots and peas. I like it with gravy because it seems too dry a dish otherwise.

we have cabbage most often....red cabbage cooked with apples, brown suger, red wine vinegar and cloves, or white cabbage cooked with a little cumin seed and butter. But wouldn't turn my nose up and broccoli, or carrots, or green beans. with lamb sausgaes I'd lean towards broad beans perhaps. You could also have Brussels cooked with a rasher of bacon....carrot and parsnip, mash some roast kabocha squash?
  • fried onions and mushrooms go down well here! (But so do baked beans in certain quarters!)

we've been known to have a cooked dinner with sausages instead of the traditional chicken/beef/pork. Sometimes we buy posher sausages for this (e.g pork and apple) and sometimes we just use plain old pork sausages.
