One, two, three, LOTS Valli. My lovely DH made me a cherry stoner with a cork and some welding wire - worked well.
Hex, I was thinking of you and DH yesterday - at the Yorkshire Show we went into the Master Blacksmith's tent. Wonderful things in there (I was lusting after the most beautiful music stand for just 1250 of your good pounds). Did you see the Monty Don Mastercrafts programmes? They had 2 of the gates that the students had made in the blacksmithing one (filmed in a workshop not far from us
).

Valli - I haven't seen them to ask and I don't like to go and knock. I have already scrumped everything within lstep adder reach on the basis they offered in the last two years. The rest are just rotting on the tree. They are great neighbours and have our spare lawnmower at the moment, and I often drop off spare eggs but I still don't like knocking and asking
. We do have one plum, two pears and four apple trees plus raspberries, strawberries, rhubarb and blackberries so not short of material in the coming months, just frustrating watching the cherries rot.
PP - Your post about your DH wanting gadgets to the tune of 18k made me smile, that is very much my DH. He is perfecting ramshead pokers at the moment. We are pottering aorund local metalsmiths atm to see what they do that keeps them in business. I have an i/view next week for a FT job that would let him stay at home and at least try to make a go of it.
We had lovely new potatoes from the garden tonight, must grow more in the future as they are little effort for lots of return when I am working.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Urgh! I'm flagging already and am stopping for a quick coffee. I'm just waiting for the td to finish and then i can finish packing the clothes. I'll just have the rest to do then.
I've also fed us, loaded, unloaded & reloaded the dw and numerous loads in the wm & td.
I need to bath Ds2 (who's made a miraculous recovery)and put him to bed, put the rabbits to bed, rewrite the list for the girls as i seem to have lost it:cool:, tidy & hoover the living room, finish packing, shower, upload pics from camera. Hmm not much then. I may be regretting the procrastination earlier.:o0 -

Hello all xx
I have been in and out of the house all day and not had chance to look at the thread. I have had a quick skim through and haven't noticed any major disasters....but huge hugs to anyone who needs them just in case.
Not even day 1 of the holidays and I am feeling a headache coming on!!!! DD was great in Pizza Hut earlier but seems to not hear anything I say when in the house. I have now tod her to get ready for bed(1/2 hour ago) so hopefully will have some peace soon....update....curtains and blinds closed DVD picked and going on, room tidy (she says?) and about to get into bed.
I have used up a facemask....closely watched!!! Dyed my hair...closely watched!!!! Am in the middle of doing eyebrows(started hours ago but what with Mum popping in and DD interupting every so often, they are not yet finished).
When DD is settled down with a film I am going to sort the dog, cwtch down on the sofa and watch Sex and the City movie and chill for a couple of hours. xx0
