Watch out leon, you'll get strung up by the moderators if you leave your Betfair referral code in your signature!
There's a referral thread somewhere for Betfair - stick a post in there and ask people to look there (or in fact they can look there themselves) instead...LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

Reclaiming my bank charges - £105 reclaimed
My Diary: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2305610 -
Hi all,
Quick update from me - as FD have decided to charge £10 a month for having a current account with them I have decided to close all my accounts (4) with them in protest!
Which I have done this morning.
I have also decided to claim back my charges from them so, while on the phone, asked if I could have them back. They offered me half back but I declined so they gave me an address to write to. I've written the letter and will post it recorded this lunchtime.
Talk about unintended consequences - they think they can get away with charging me £10 a month. Instead, they lose a customer and all his money in savings and get bank charges claimed back. I probably wouldn't have bothered otherwise, but as I was shutting the account anyway I had nothing to lostLBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

I agree with you. I am also an FD customer. I feel this is penalising people who are paid less than 20K per annum. As I am going to walk I think i will claim my charges too! I've been a credit card tart for ages.
If you keep good records, I find it's quite easy to be a bank tart too!
PS Get them on those charges. As they are getting the money elsewhere, they can afford to refund you now! Don't need to feel sorry for them!
PPS If banks do start charging us for current accounts, their customer service better be up to scratch! Otherwise it's going to be complain, complain, complain, goodwill payment, goodwill payment, goodwill payment.leon103 wrote:Sorry who are FD?

You Go DDDK! I'm claiming my charges back from LLoyds AND Barclays - they offered me 1/2 too but I'm sticking out for the whole lot. I'm enjoying the matched betting too - although I have more profit from cashback than from actual betting profits as yet! My boyf is nagging me to teach him this weekend too.
I STILL haven't been paid, so I am very annoyed , BUT, I'll be invoicing them for a late payment fee so I can cope :A See y'all for the updates on Monday if not before.

Hi all! It's coooooold brrrrr! Anyway, I'm still waiting and waiting and waiting for my Capital One cheque. I've been stashing my cash and have nearly £1,600 ready to top up the Capital One money so I can pay of my Egg loan. Wow! That's nearly £6,700, so more than enough! I'll use any extra to start paying off Amex...
So my debts should look like this: M&S £7000; Lloyds: £1880.06 and Amex £5481.42 = £14,361.48 fairly shortly...
Still waiting for my cheque so nothing changed here!DontDoDebtKids wrote:Goals:
1) Ebay loads of stuff today
2) Place a matched bet
3) Pay in cheque
4) Get settlement amount from Egg
5) Pay off Egg loan
There, some goals for a change!
1) Ebay auctions still running!
2) Have placed a qualifying bet at the weekend but haven't yet placed my free bet so this can be goal 1) for this week
3) No cheque so bump this to this week as 2)
4) No point to bump this to 3)
5) See above, bump to 4)

2)Submit an expenses claim for travel costs. Not done.
3)Update my accounts with my expenditure so I can claim back some money from Mr Tax man! Not done, but receipts collated, so half way there.
4)Place another 2 matched bets at least, and get some more money coming in. Done £212 profit so far!
5) List my old printer on ebay. Not done as my mother wants it.
Ok. I'm off to potter. Goals please everyone

OK, Because I haven't got my sticky hands on that cheque yet, I'm still stalling, so:

HOWEVER, I have some matched betting profit winging it's way to me and my mum gave me the cash she was going to give me for xmas a bit early, so I anticipate at least £300 off the debt in the next week. Plus, I've now instituted a late payment charge on my invoice so that should make them pay me sharpish, AND earn a bit extra into the bargain! :T
I'm loving the matched betting - even got my OH into it! Hurrah for Betfair and Quidco I say!
Okely Dokely. That's most of my news, so:
Goals For Next Week:
1)£300 pound off debt please!
2) Try to equal this week's matched betting profit!
3)For Goddssake woman, if you have to chain yourself to the finance dept. coffee machine, GET THAT CHEQUE.
4) Send invoice for travel expenses and late payment charge if applicable.
