Wooo hoo well done Shaz:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

There is no calculator to work out syns but you can use the very loose 20 calories = 1syn. This doesn't work for everything so please use it only in emergencies.
The main thing to remember with Extra Easy is to have at least one third of your plate as superfree veg or fruit and to weigh your Healthy Extras and syns carefully. Eat as much as it takes to satisfy your appetite (that is not to feel stuffed, just nicely full).
Enjoy and keep posting
thank you, i'm sticking to red and green days, i havent got my head round the extra easy bit, i only have books from ages ago, but i am subscribing to slimming world magazine and once i have a few i will sort a menu out and give it a go.
My main problem is i cannot eat dry food, it makes life a bit difficult plus the whole family eat the same thing and they are quite fussy so we tend to stick to the same foods which is no good, i want to give them exciting but healthy meals
Any ideas? but no aubergines[STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]

Do you mean like, things have to have a sauce?
Curries, chinese style, lasagne, stews, casseroles, chilli? There is a briliant slimming world book called 100 sauces or something that my sister is supposed to be sending me and I know that many of the sauce recipes have been replicated elsewhere on the web.
What sort of things are you making at the moment? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Chilli bean risotto (nicked from a WW cookbook)
Spagetti and meatballs (quorn)
Vegetable lasagne
Surf and turf (with salad dressing)
Jacket ptatoes, cheese and beans
Beef and bacon burgers with tomato & herb relish
Egg, chips and beans (which is ok so long as the egg is soft)[STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]

I honestly think you might have more choices with Extra easy?
Things I make
Mexican meatballs with rice ( tomato/chilli based sauce) taco shells, salads
Spicy chicken ( cajun seasoning) with rice, veg in a tomato based chilli sauce
Fajitas with salsa ( altho i have the taco shell instead of the wrap as Im tight with syns)
Chilli ( which Im having today for lunch) veggie/ quorn in a sweet potato baked
Chicken and mushroom lasagne ( creamy sauce Fromage frais)
Cous cous and tagine ( any meat)
Kebabs, salad,s couscous, dressings ( made of quark)
Fish and chips
lasagne ( i make with qorn mince as I dont like meat mince)
"Roasted" veg with some sort of meat or fish, salads
Havent been makign many risottos, but Im going to do a few more I think ( its more of a winter food for me) and biriyanis I can imagine it would be quite easy to do a nice yoghurt type dressing with this?
Quark let down with a bit of HEA milk is good as a base for dressings, im going to experiment more with this this week!
The website I posted up earlier has some good stuff on as well including casseroles etc. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

yeah i had a look at that, its too hot at the moment for chillies and curries but i have book marked it and will definately be choosing a few meals from there.
I have to get my head round the extra easy, i know the red/green rules off by heart so it feels weird to be allowed to mix them![STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]

I am also tight with my syns, i prefer my meals to be syn free and then i can enjoy them more. Its not always possible though and maybe that is cutting my choices down a bit too. I have to re-learn it all so i dont get fed up like last time[STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]

I feel like that about red/green Shaz!
I couldnt imagine as I said before weighing things. I just eat the amount I need of free foods then add the syns as I go.
Althoguh was considering doing red/green to mix it up a bit and accelerate the last bit to lose but I cant truly be bothered with the weighing so I dont think it will happen to be honest:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Ive looked at a few of the recipes and im sure the syns can be removed. there is a fruity curry recipe containing raisins and she suggested that these could be removed and apple be substituted instead, I love apple in curry havent had that for ages so will be giving that one a try.
I also dont use tomato puree when I find it and use tinned toms instead but reduce them down on a low heat and find this equally as good in most things Ive tried it with.
Just trial and error I guess a bit and if you dont want the syns chop them out of the recipe(ie I havent used oil yet, only frylite)
