Thanks for the advice I do normally have tomatoes but was in a rush to get my oldest to holiday club. I did eat about 7 straght out of the garden they taste so much better.
I have also had half a pineapple whilest I was cooking tea. Total stuffed still and tea was at 4pm. Still need to eat at least 3syns and A&B.
Sounds good
Could you use your HEA for a milky coffee? The HEB could be a Hi-Fi bar or similar.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I like the sound of the apple couscous with cinnamon, yum. Worth the syns I suspect. Apple, stewed is only 2 syns for 113gms and I wouldn't think you'd need anything like that much so if you halved the recipe it would only be 1 syn.
I have the couscous, fruit & yoghurt regularly and find it very filling and it only takes 5 minutes to get ready.
Hey consultant, what fruit do you usually use in this, is the fruit warmed or cold I was thinking rasperrys might be good? Or mango?
Im not really sure.
I guess I can have some cooked fruit as my HEB nowadays but would have to sacrifice the alpen lites, hmm not sure I can be weaned off these, the apple and cinamon ones are my favegreat combo
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Evening all! I've been trying to catch up with the thread, phew! you lot can natter on:eek: lol.
Well done all you happy losers out there and chin up to those who are struggling. Someone asked about the need for breakfast, Dizzy I think...... well the way it was explained to me was that when you go to sleep all your systems, including digestive system, go into a sort of 'semi shutdown state', so breakfast is important because it gets the body to start working again and processing all that food laying about in your system, IYSWIM. Hope that helps.
I'm polishing off my halo as we speak, Yesterday went really well, managed to stay on track all day (following Saturdays Takeaway Chicken kebab de-railment adn feeling so cross with myself) and despite having a half day at work today which means me in the house alone for a few hours and the opportunity to munch away unseen, i've managed to do the same today, :A, I know I'm bound to come a cropper at some point but at the moment i'm feeling very positive. When Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0 -

Normally I have bananas because I find they fill me more, but anything will do. I don't warm them but I eat the whole thing while it's still warm as it's so good that way
To whoever it was asked whether breakfast is necessary; if you miss meals, your metabolism will slow down. Every time you eat it raises the metabolism for a while so that anything you do during that time, you'll be using more calories....win win situation - eat more often, lose more weight :jI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Well ladies it sounds like you've all been more successful than me today! As predicted OH's mum managed to make tea naughty again! Not only was it sausages but they were fried in oil aaaaarrrggghhhh!! Fruit for pud though. Only trouble is...............I'm hungry now!! No syns left, no HEs left and I'm sick to death of fruit lol!!!!0

consultant31 wrote: »You might find it much easier if you have something syn-free for breakfast and keep your HEs for later in the day.
You could have eggs, fruit and yoghurt, bacon/egg/tomato/mushroom (on a Red day) or for a Green day try plain couscous made as per packet instructions and once cooled a little, add chopped fruit and a Mullerlight. It makes a yummy and very filling breakfast but leaves HEs for later.
In my opinion (I know I'm biased, lol) WW is less healthy than SW simply because of the way they allow you extra points to eat whatever takes your fancy. On the whole, overweight people don't normally make healthy choices, so given the option to have an apple for 'x' points or a bag of crisps for the same points............how many people would choose the apple???
It shouldn't be a "hard slog" or you won't stick to it. I suggest you read the books again and see how many lovely foods there are available. There's nothing you can't have but it takes a bit of planning to make it work well. Have a look at MRSMACAWBER's meal plans - she eats loads and the weight is dropping off (well done MRSM!!)
Hiya! - Quick update on the chocolate/gym dilemma.......
I was very good and went to the gym - told mysef I should at least go and if it was too much I could just go home. Also promised myself no more than 45 mins. Made it.....just. Blimey was I hungry when I got home - luckily had pre-made pasta sauce so only had to reheat - but that 7 mins whilst the pasta cooked seemed like a lifetime.
I know it shouldn't be a slog - to be honest it probably wouldn't feel that way if I was losing a decent amount each week - at the mo it just seems like I'm putting all the effort in and getting not much out.
I normally go green so I can have 2 HEA and HEB but had that leftover pasta sauce with mince in which meant I had to go EE. I think the thing that really finished me off today as the long hours. My son and I normally eat between 5 and 6 and I think my body wa a bit confused. The manky jacket potato just made things worse.
As I've not been losing that much, I've been re-reading the books to make sure I'm doing it right, weighing stuff - even pasta to make sure I'm not going OTT - normally have 83g (but that's also for portion control - you can have 6 portions out of a 500g bag of pasta at that size). I've pretty much given up bread because I can't face wholemeal but refuse to be synned for granary bread. I've mostly given up alcohol. Perhaps it's just not meant to be.
I'll try and post my plans so if anyone has any ideas where I might be going wrong or any suggestions then please let me know.
Consultant 31 - I do kind of agree with you on the whole apple vs crisps scenario on WW. In fact my main beef was that I had to give up a point for an apple at all - I have an apple habit of about 3 a day!. I remember working out that I could either have a slice of wholemail toast with a scraping of low fat spread or a packet of french fries for the same amount and making the not very sensible choice on that one. However, I do think WW is more flexible - you can plan as much as you like - today I took home-prepared salad and cottage cheese into work to have with that jacket pot. I took in plenty of fruit (altho no bananas after I realised I might have been eating too many of them) FF yoghurts etc but once I cut open that potato and realised I couldn't possibly eat it, my options were immediately severely limited. Our canteen at work is very basic. It's pretty much sandwiches, something and chips, jacket pots or a sausage roll. There is nowhere else to buy food nearby. On WW I would have had a salad sandwich. With the bread on offer at work that would have cost me nearly 10 syns out of a daily allowance of 10 whereas on WW it wuld have been 5 or 6 from an allowance of 20. Perhaps I'll post my meal plan separately - this has accidentally become rather a long post.....0 -
So
Today was EE
HEA - Weetabix
HEB - Skimmed Milk
Breakfast - Weetabix and milk + cup of tea
Snack - Apple x 2
Lunch - manky jacket pot - FF cottage cheese, salad, FF yoghurt
3pm - Snackajacks - can't look these up because I have completely forgotten who makes them - what a silly way to organise online syns!!
4pm - another FF yoghurt and an apple
5pm - options hot choc (2)
Tea - Pasta bolognaise (extra lean mince, muchrooms, peppers and onions)
Strawberries and Quark (with half sachet options hot choc) (1) for puds
Weetabix Bar (3.5 syns) and cup of tea
So 6 and a half syns + snackajacks - not good but it could have been soooo much worse0 -
