scrummyangel wrote: »Hi...im starting slimming world today and am panicking about it already:( tried a few recipes last week which went well......I work shifts though so am worrying about what to make for a late shift etc....eeeek!!! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I have about 6 stone to shed but need to lose approx 4 of that before july 29th 2011 (this is my wedding day!!)
Hope this diet works
It took me just under 6 months to lose 4 stone - you can do it if i can!!
Do you have access to a microwave in your work place? If you do i would make excess portions of your meals, either refridgerate or freeze them and get them out and nuke them on your break!
You could also make a soup, cook it and bung it in a flask (would be scrummers on a cold night!and a good way of getting your superfrees in
)
Packets of Pasta n Sauce or batchelors rice are handy too as you can cook these beforehand and have them cold or you could cook them in the microwave. The rices are free and the pasta n sauces range from free to 2 syns each. If you are following EE i would either have these with a salad or take a fruit salad for afters to get my superfrees in
HTHAll hail to the sale!!!!!!

Hi everyone - thanks for the big welcome.
Have just been away for the night to Bamburgh which was amazing. It's one of our favourite places, and we stayed with friends who have an apartment in the Castle with a roof terrace - fab pictures. Didn't do too much damage but waited till today to start officially counting. Here goes!
When I was doing SW last time, the consultant we had thought you could use your healthy b for 1/2 a thin crust base, then if you use ham and tinned tomatoes, and low fat 'healthy a' cheese as the topping, she decided I hade made a SYN FREE PIZZA! I don't know if the same rules apply now?
We've started the day with 2 slices hovis, 2 bacon and a dry fried egg, with a homemade smoothie of pineapple, strawberries and blueberries with 0% greek yoghurt - yum.
Have a good BH Mon.

Done ok yesterday! (phew) but today i am off to the harvester (i think i will be glad to get back to work tomorrow!) They do have this new menu format which means i dont have to faff around asking them to replace chips with jacket spud. . . etc. . . etc...
I was thinking of having (opinion's much appreciated)
Sirloin steak (fat removed)
Pilau rice
Chilli Garlic sauce (ask for this to come in a pot)
Salad (grated carrot, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, pepper and beetroot) from the cart to make my 1/3 superfree (no dressing - shall use the sauce that comes with my meal)
Was also gonna ask for 5 king prawns on the side to make it a "surf and turf" sort of thing!
Now i am hoping ^^^^^^^^ that lot isn't too high on the syn front so if i do have room after i was debating on whether to flexi syn a dessert into my meal... a rocky horror is 32 syns so thats out of the question as is the brownie @ 37 syns... a sundae best with choc sauce is only 13 syns.... hmmmmmmm but then they do this scrummy doughnut sundae... ***Rushes off to check nutrition info***
EDIT... ****Rushes back*** ok will avoid the doughnut thing as would work out about 29 syns! BAH!
Mind you.. the chicken wings come in at 6.5 syns with their skin left on... hmmmmmm decisions decisions...
NOOOOOOOOOO not the chicken wings pixie......go for the flexie choc sauce sundae best to round the meal off13 syns for bank hol treat..... well you did ask for opinions.....not my fault im a choccie fiend :rotfl::rotfl:x

I got the new mag in class on thurs - so should hit the shops anytime around now.
Twas me on about the sausages which were very nice .....although it says to use both pork mince & turkey mince (and OH is going through his really annoying fussy stage again ) so I ended up making some seperate ones just for him with plain pork, a tiny sprinkle of sage & some parsley......and they were flipping lushI'l def be doing them again!!!!!
BTW its me that has the target friend who eats 'normal' but not stooopid at the weekend (she doesnt go out on the lash or live in Macdonalds......but then she is in her 70's lol:rotfl:) and sticks to the plan rigid through the week. shes coming up to 3 years at target towards the end of the year too.....so it obviously works for her rather than increasing Bs & As & syns accross the board.
Thanks Dizzy [I'm rubbish at remembering who says what sorry] So the sausages are made with meat in the new mag [yay]. Will have to keep an eye out for it.
I've tried having extra HEs but I'm not very good at (a) remembering it & (b) having room left to eat it. Will just go with the flow and hope I don't keep losing weight. Nothing fits properly and can't afford [at moment] to buy new clothes. All my saved pennies are to buy kit for my son for College, that includes his bus pass, bus fare to/from city, kit with college name on, all his extra rugby stuff i.e. 3 pairs of boots  [so not cheap], shorts, socks, warm shirts/shorts, cold shirts/shorts etc the list goes on. He needs it all as he'll be playing rugby every day whatever the weather. I'm stressing sooooooooo much already.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

No probs hun......the sausages were lovely tho I do recommend when you make them to experiment and make some pork only with a bit of sage as these were really lush!
sounds like you've got and expensive time going on at the mo
my OH's nephews (both in mid and late 20's now) Are in the rugby thing BIG TIME lol one went to america for 6months playing (they paid him & also paid his living etc) and the other has been to australia for a year & new zealand, Hes now back home playing for cantebury. The youngest is at a sports college training to coach youngsters now.... but plays for some halifax team (cant think of its name now)
Family meals can be a nightmare when they are both together there as they can eat for england and are built like brick sh*t houses lol...... they are banned from getting anything until everyone else has otherwise they just clear the table of ALL the food :rotfl::eek:0 -
:j Woohoo go me! Did 15 minutes on the exercise bike this morning. Ok I know it's not much but its a start to getting myself focused back into a routine. Am going to do another 15 soon then 2 sets later this afternoon / evening to spread out an hour throught the day.
Thanks for the Dyno Rod recipie, does it really flush you out? lol
Thanks for the pizza base and flour tips.
Have a good day everybody!Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

Agggghhhh - I always forget that the fruit is naughty when it is smoothied! I don't understand why (well I do but I like to whinge), but they must know best as I am still fat after thinking I know best!:D.
Must have the fruit as a fruit salad tomorrow! At least I don't need to worry about the raspberry pips in the smoothie!

I am a chicken wing fiend... BUT i can make better ones at home for less syns so i am thinking sundae... it depends on how full i am as i find harvester ice cream sickly as hell after a while... esp if i am full from my main course!
i could always ask my sister if she fancied sharing her donut sundae... I WISH! lol.All hail to the sale!!!!!!
