Mmmmmmm..... lentils.
That reminds me, I make a great Turkish lentil dish, which I haven't done for ages. I think I'll do that for tea tonight with a big mixed salad.
Sorted! Thanks!I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Thankyou all for your comments, I knew I was being daft, but just needed to check
Just found out this morning that the wedding has been postponed until next year so really disappointed that I won't be needing a maxi dress afterall. Much as I'd love to get one anyway, I know I just won't get to wear it
Thanks again xxSome people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0 -
Wooo shiny new SW thread
Not having a good couple of days! Its been too bloomin hot to think about food so i have eaten stuff i really shouldn't!
Friday i was doing well then i had a curly wurly - fine, only 6 syns but then went home and ended up having veggie chow mein from the chinese. Luckily i was (just) within my 15 syns but i really wanted to cut them down this week!
Then yesterday we ended up having a BBQ - i was not prepared and ended up eating 2 5.5 syn burgers  my syn count got to 23.5! V disappointed!!
Anyhoo am back on plan today!
EE
B - 28g Fruit and fibre (1/2 heb) with milk (hea) 1 wg crackerbread (1/2 heb) with choc nut spread (1.5) Cup of tea (milk hea) banana
L/D - Chicken with HM potato salad (dug up some yummy looking spuds off our allotment yesterday!) using mayo (1 syn) chives, garlic and onion. Am a bit short on veggies so will probably try and do something creative with the many courgettes i currently have! :rotfl:
That means i have only used 2.5 syns so far.
I always find sunday evenings difficult food wise... I have some Quark so i think i'm going to halve the tub and make a garlic and onion dip and use the rest of it to make lemon curd quarkAll hail to the sale!!!!!!
new beginnings...... new successes..0 -
Meal plan for today
Breakfast: Toast (HEB) and marg (2 syns)
Lunch: Mixed bean salad - with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, mixed beans
Snacks: strawberries, nectarine, muller light yogurt
Dinner: not sure yet, will update later
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Ok am feeling slightly pathetic asking this but what is a 'maxi' dress?
I don't 'do' dresses after spending too many years with thighs that rubbed together. I have to be prised out of my jeans/ 3 quarters or shorts even when we go out. I did wear a long dress to a wedding last year but it was soooooooooo hot my thighs still rubbed so couldn't wait to get it off.
But I say go for it, wear whatever you feel comfortable in and if you look good in it don't worry what others think. Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Afternoon all,
I sent OH out to do some food shopping and he bought organic beef mince instead of the extra lean! !!!!!!, he meant well so I can't have a go, but the stuff he got has 20% fat in it, any ideas of the syn content?
I guess when I use it to make a lasagne etc...I could drain some of the fat off.....but burgers will be a bit awkward. They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Hi again,
I'm cooking lunch whilst OH is doing the gardening. I'm frying (in frylight) sausages and bacon for him (I have quorn ones in the oven) so I dont have to have two pans on the go I plan to cook the mushrooms and eggs in the same pan, I don't want to wipe the pan out and risk some food going cold so was wondering, if I allow say 3 syns for any fat from the bacon and sausage would I be ok?They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

I can't remember who suggested it, but I tried a teaspoon of lemon curd in 0% Total after lunch today and it tastes amazing! Thank you so much for the tip.

Hi everyone- hope you are all having good weekends.
Despite my disappointing WI on thursday (0.5Ib on for no reason ) I have managed to not go down the route of giving into junk food- but it was difficult. I was over syns yesterday at 24syns (Galaxy ripple and half a bottle of Rose wine shared with OH) but on Friday I had only 5 syns so for the week... it's still on track.
Having a mix2max day today- remember those, anybody? Our consultant says mix2max is still ok
Breakfast- yoghurt, banana
Lunch (green)- mini cajun potato wedges (made with baby new potatoes) lettuce, cucumber, spring onion, v low fat cottage cheese. 1tbsp barbecue sauce (0.5 syn)
Dinner (original)-hot beef sandwiches (roast beef,2xHEB bread rolls, fried onions using frylight) salad.
There may be some more syns- as we are having dinner at my mum and dads but we'll see0
