morning,am basck on the wagon after a week of piggyitis:D.got all the books, got the extra e4asy book last week so motivated.lost almost 2 stone on s.fast for first stone then went on slimming world red/green.put weight back on at first after the s.fast but bound to.i love the fact you can eat loads of fruit without counting it,is it really unlimited though?
what about pasta, rice etc.is it unlimited when you say free? i dont know when to stop with pasta.i make sauce from scratch so its healthy.i have it for my meal but i always want more later when its cold.

Pasta, rice etc are unlimited, or limited only by your appetite. HOWEVER, you must remember on Extra Easy that one-third of your meal must be superfree food (that is, fruit or vegetables that are free on both Red and Green plans); and you will probably have a better weight loss if even more than one-third of your meal is the superfree food - I would be inclined to have more of the tomato sauce/vegetables than the actual pasta. (NB baked beans, garden peas etc are NOT superfree, though they are vegetables, because they are free on Green days but not Red, iyswim), thus they are only "free", like the pasta. If you read through Consultant's post at the beginning of this thread she explains all that, I believe.

hi eveyone...love the shiny new thread! Last night at the pub I was pretty good! I'd saved Thursday's syns and I'm trying to have no more than 5 per day for the rest of the week so here's what I had:

Cajun chicken (2 assuming it will have been cooked in oil), salad, salad cream (2.5), jacket potato (instead of chips and with no butter on it).
Cheesecake (no cream of ice-cream so 18)
4 vodkas with slimline tonic (16)

so that's a total of 38.5 syns, if I stick to my 5 per day for the rest of the week I should be ok. here's today's plan:

    Brekkie1 (at work) - half a banana
Brekkie2 (once I go home) - a tin of chopped tomatoes.
Lunch - salad, pickled onions and red cabbage, fat free dressing, tuna
Snack - strawberries and raspberries (free in both senses of the word - i went to the pick you own farm and obviously had to test a few!!!).
Tea - HM cheese burgers (HEA), small wholemeal roll (HEB) salad, new potatoes (i might make this into potato salad using natural yogurt).

I've been for a walk today for about 45 mins but now I'm shattered, today is the 13th day in a row that I've been up at 6am for work! Only 6 more to do!

how do you make the syn free curry sauce plz??:D

A quick, easy and delicious curry sauce:-

    Syn free curry sauce.
    1 Onion
    2 cloves Garlic
    1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
    400g tin chopped tomatoes
    57ml/2fl oz veg stock
    2 tbspn sweetener
57g/ 2oz natural yoghurt or fromage frais (for creaminess)

    Chop onions and crush garlic.
Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder. Stir well.
Cook for couple more mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Then blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then stir in the yoghurt or fromage frais.

As Blackberry Rum says, there is no limit to the amount of free food that you eat BUT it is necessary to eat lots of superfree fruit and veg if you want to see a good weight loss.

Also, do try to get plenty of variety within your menu.......try to eat a different meal every day not stick to pasta 5 days a week if you see what I mean.

I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Evening all!

Well I have been out with my DIL and two DGD's for lunch. Actually we were late setting out, and then the place we wanted to go was closed for a reburb, so we went to another place and arrived just as they were closing, and ended up at a carvery - by which time it was nearly 4pm and I was ready to eat the kids. Good job they were in the back of the car!!

Anyway, I was really good, lots of meat and veg, one small yorkshire, no potato, no pud (even though the BAD girls delighted in having lovely ice-cream deserts and smacking their lips in front of me).

So I'm stuffed now, and hopefully won't have synned too much.

I am aiming for my half stone this week. I was at 6.5 lbs loss last time, and thought I had another 1.5 lbs to go, till my sis pointed out that there are only 7lbs in half a stone, not 8 :rotfl: So I could be there this week, fingers crossed xxx

  • Hi everyone,

I'm in my 1st week of SW after years of being an off and on WW follower. I'm finding it quite strange as I'm equating the free foods to pointed foods and can't believe I can eat all this stuff! :j

Couple of questions though, I seem to be following mostly Green days (didn't opt for EE this week as much as the SW lady told me to) but am eating quite a bit of pasta, is this okay? I'm worried :(

My weigh in is Monday evening, in my 1st WW week I would usually lose around 4-5lbs, can I expect that with my 1st of SW?

I've stuck to it really well IMO, although I have had almost the full amount of syns everyday, roughly 12-13, is this okay? :embarasse At our 1st meeting the lady didn't really advise me as they were having "technical difficulties", so really been trying to get my head around it myself this week

    Any advice, thanks a lot

Hi, Miss Corleone! Welcome aboard. I have never done WW, but I know a few who have, including my sister, and they have all found the change over from points to free food strange/confusing at first. Also I hear that people get mixed up with WW points and SW syns.

All I would say is, stick with it and keep posting here - any questions or concerns you may have between classes someone on here will answer. And you find lots of tips.

My tip is whether you do red, green, or EE, always have 1/3 free veggies or fruit with each meal, even breakfast. I have found that is the trick to shifting the weight (in fact I do 2/3 free veg to 1/3 meat/carbs), although what works for one may not work for everyone.

Also don't skip your HEA and HEB.

    Good luck x
