Good luck with WI MrsM oh and where do u get your smilies from especially the fingers crossed one?

I do mainly green days and when I did sw 1st time around I ate pasta nearly every day and still lost 2 1/2 stone. I eat a lot of noodles [& couscous frittas :D] these days and am nearly back at target. The thing with pasta is to know your limit and stop when you are full. I find I don't need nearly as much pasta now as I did 1st time around.

Today I have mostly been eating too many syns :o

    B - weetabix milk [a] coffee

L - asda's prawn & pasta salad [couldn't find the exact one online so went with one I could @ 11 syns], bag mcoys [8] 2 bottles water :D

T - pineapple & muller [not hungry, too flaming hot]

    Snacks - ermmmm nowt :o

Syns - 19 [could be more depending on that salad]

    Back to normal tomorrow :D
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Hope you don't mind me asking you guys a question unrelated to sw!!
I've got a wedding to go to next month and I've fell in love with a maxi dress which looks quite gorgeous on :D My question is, being the big 40 that I am, am I too old to wear it??
Actually it is sw related because if it wasn't for sw, I wouldn't be happy enough with my size to try something different :T

    Hi everyone,

I'm in my 1st week of SW after years of being an off and on WW follower. I'm finding it quite strange as I'm equating the free foods to pointed foods and can't believe I can eat all this stuff! :j

Couple of questions though, I seem to be following mostly Green days (didn't opt for EE this week as much as the SW lady told me to) but am eating quite a bit of pasta, is this okay? I'm worried :(

My weigh in is Monday evening, in my 1st WW week I would usually lose around 4-5lbs, can I expect that with my 1st of SW?

I've stuck to it really well IMO, although I have had almost the full amount of syns everyday, roughly 12-13, is this okay? :embarasse At our 1st meeting the lady didn't really advise me as they were having "technical difficulties", so really been trying to get my head around it myself this week

    Any advice, thanks a lot

I did ww years ago and I know what you mean about comparing ww points versus sw plan and it is a bit of a worry to begin with because it's difficult to imagine you'll lose weight when you're eating so much!! The difference is of course, that with sw, syns aside, everything you eat is healthy food and therefore so much better for you. How much you lose on your first week isn't really important IMO - I lost a pound!! Fact is the weight WILL come off as long as you stick to it long term. Lots of luck xx

I'm 45 and have slimmed down from size 22/24 to a 10/12 and I wear all the fashionable clothes I can find!:Dand never once have I encountered any comments other than 'you look amazing'.I have loads of maxi dresses and wear them all the time so yes you can wear a maxi dress and in fact you can wear anything you want that looks good on you.The days are gone when being over 40 was considered to be too old for trendy clothes and we were expected to wear pleated crimplene.Nowadays we wear all the top fashion and look damn good in it too:T.Looking forward to seeing pics of you in your maxi dress and I bet you look and feel amazing

I think the maxi dress is suitable for any age and size. I did read somewhere that bigger girls shouldnt wear them  but I thought if one stuck to the straighter styles they should be flattering. Havent got one yet but planning too. Hope this fashion stays round for a long while :D
Have a nice time at the wedding

    Morning all

Well Im reporting in with a 3lb loss this week :jso I got my 3st award :D-3st1lb gone and still "mumble mumble stones and lbs" left :rotfl:
MissCorleone... I was a WW girl through n through (I can probably still quote the plan chapter and verse :p) -when I started SW I told myself that I just had to trust what it said and not get into comparing it against WW -I would have got in a right fuddle otherwise :rotfl:..This is my first attempt at SW -and even though on WW I would lose 8-10lb on my 1st week (ohhh yes I joined on and off for years -which speaks volumes really -I could lose loads dead quick -but did it stay off? nope:o)..With SW I lost 3.5lb in my first week -but "would I ever go back to SW?" -Not on your nelly :rotfl:
Sw is (in my opinion) a bl**dy marvel. With WW I was either ON or OFF a diet....now I can see myself eating the SW way for the rest of my life and hubby too :D -he is losing weight by eating what I give him and he still gets to have his beer (thats all it takes to make ma man happy isn't it ;))
The recipes are great and Im loving it..so much so that I haven't had any crisps, choc, cake, biccies, pastries, sweets etc for 12 weeks -not a crumb :jand its not because I can't -Im just really enjoying eating properly so much that I don't crave or fancy that stuff anymore (please let it last :p)
Heck I sound like a sales woman :o
Take-it-eazy -the icons are on the minimins site (I copy my meal plan over ;))

Anyway folks -my meal plan for today is:-
    • 2 rashers bacon
    • mushrooms
    • tomatoes
    • melon/pineapple
    • 2 seedy ryvita (B)
    • cottage cheese
    • lettuce
    • cucumber
    • tomatoes
    • celery
    • peppers
    • carrot
    • onion
    • gherkin
    • beetroot
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 1tsp camp (0.5)
    • jelly + fruit (1)
    • bolognaise
    • 198g steamed potatoes (B)
    • 1/4tsp oil (0.5)
    • paprika
    • salad "as above"
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 1tsp camp (0.5)
    • jelly+fruit (1)
    • 50g vanilla quark (1)
So that is my A+Bs accounted for and 4.5syns -I will see if I can squidge a few extra in somewhere later ;)

Hubby is on duty today so won't be back until the morning -but then he haas the day off -so we will be nipping shopping for more water, fruit, veg -amongst other things . So I need to get my meal plan for the week finalised and a shopping list made ...

The weather just won't let up here -it is scorching -so later I will close the curtains and keep the fan on full welly and get on the wii and make a start on burning some wobble for next week :p
Right -thats far to much waffle from me -have a great day everyone and keep up the great work,,,,
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5

I am loving the maxi at the moment, and think they are suitable for most ages. I think the key is to pick a style that suits your size and height, but there are so many lovely ones around at the moment! Any chance of a linky to your dress?

Well, I had a good day yesterday after a dodgy few days and the scales are showing 2lb on at the moment :(. Still, got four days till the WI that counts so hopefully most of that is fluid from eating junk as I haven't been too bad calorie-wise.

Planning to make a syn-free lentil loaf later if it doesn't get too hot here. Will post a recipe if it is successful.
