    Hey all,

Had a fab day, work treated us to a day at a health spa! I didn't have any syns yesterday so I could have 30 today. We had little sandwiches, mini muffins and cookies for lunch plus a glass of champagne, tonight we're having cod in batter, sw chips and mushy peas. I'm hoping my 30 syns will cover this?

    Happy slimming everyone!

www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo. I've never really known whether to eat my exercise calories or not due to conflicting info, so I thought others who exercise may be interested in reading it too. As I don't usually eat my exercise cals apparently it may be hindering my weight loss as, in simple terms, it will take me under 1200 cals per day and therefore my body will hold onto my horrible fat.

Hmm...I know WW tell you not to eat your exercise points to lose weight at a faster rate but wondering, what does SW say about this?

SW don't do calorie counting at all. If you follow the plan as it is set out, using HEs and syns, drinking lots of water, doing some body magic each day, eating till your appetite is satisfied (not till you're stuffed, lol) your weight loss should average 1 - 2 lbs a week.

Star weeks are different in as much as some women can hold as much as 4lbs of excess fluid, but if you stick to plan it should work out the following week.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I can't find my earlier post about the Speed Soup so here's the recipe again for anyone who may want to make it. It makes a HUGE amount, so you will need a mahoosive pan (or ½ the ingredients). We found having a bowl each day for lunch gave a great weight loss AND it's also a proven 'dyno-rod' recipe :rotfl:

Speed food Soup (syn free on Green and EE)

    1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can baked beans
    Handful of split lentils
    2 large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 medium carrots
    2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
    2 vegetable stock cubes
    Salt pepper
    Mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all ingredients)
Chop all vegetables. Put them and everything else into a large pan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are soft (about 30 mins). Once cooked, the soup can be left chunky or blended smooth.

    Freezes well!

  • Back to the soup question - I think ANY type of vegetable soup is easy to make. Simply dry fry some chopped onions and garlic (roughly chopped, it's all going to be blended later), then add your choice of roughly chopped vegetables with some stock (oxo or vecon or marigold or whatever is your favourite) and simmer until done. I do all this in the microwave, and I use just enough stock to cook the vegetables as you can add water or milk later, and it takes three or four minutes. Then it all goes in the blender, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, add some more liquid to rinse the blender round, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Done.

    My favourites are:
    * tomato (using tinned toms, sooooo simple!) and add some fresh herbs at the end
    * cauliflower or broccolli - add small cubes of low fat cheese to serve, and they turn into melty cheesy moments in your soup
    * lentil, but this takes longer to cook and you need a few spices adding at the frying stage.
    * lettuce - sounds awful but believe me it's tons better than lettuce on a salad :o you do need milk in this though.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • mmmmmmmmmmm 'scuse me whilst I do a "Harry met Sally". Just finished up the chilli I made for last night, and with it I microwaved some baby new potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, all cut small. Once the vegetables were cooked I stirred in the leftover "sourcream and chives" to which I had added a squirt of garlic puree. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. (the sourcream and chives was really a mixture of yoghurt and quark with fresh chives chopped in)

2.5lbs off this week. I'm a little disappointed with that but it's in the healthy levels of loss so I suppose a small loss is better than no loss! I know where I went wrong, I didn't write anything down and didn't do any diaries, so that's been my problem this week.

My first month has led me to a grand loss of 1st 4lbs - quite happy with that :)

Gosh, that's not a small loss by any standard, you should be delighted and thrilled not disappointed! Please don't expect to carry on losing at such a rate (unless you have several stones to lose) or you may well be disappointred enough to give up - I've seen this happen often :(

A healthy rate of loss is between 1 and 2 lbs a week - more than that and you can run the risk of losing lean muscle mass which makes losing weight very difficult.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Meant to say I also did 5 minutes on the cross trainer in the gym, and did about 10 lengths of the little swimming pool :)

After all that I'm hopeful of a 1lb loss this week - wish me luck
