ON this note I thought of one today

Carrot and Orange soup made with carrots, stock and a few tablespoons of the Orange juice

Do I have to syn the OJ in this meal?

Have not looked further to see if anyone else has answered this, but actually, if following the letter of the plan, yes you should. However, I'd be inclined to not count it since the soup only uses a little juice and it may well do for more than one meal.

Well chaps/chapesses, apparently my scales are naff, as they say I lost nothing but club scales say I lost 3.5 llbs :D. Sad thing is, because I thought it wasn't working, I wasn't as careful over the last couple of days :o. Just hope I haven't sabotaged next week.

Which is exactly why I always recommend putting your own scales away in the loft. It's a waste of time getting weighed more than once a week and even more pointless using more than one set of scales.

Stick with the plan, it'll even out over a week or so. Good luck :)

Does anyone here use red lentils with their cooking. I got a huge bag I need to use up.
I know I can bulk out spag bol and other dishes using it but I was hoping for some new ideas.

These are yummy and will use up your lentils in no time:_

Lentil and Cheese Wedges (Serves 2: syn-free + 2 HEAs)

    4 oz/ 113g Red Lentils
    225ml water
    1 onion
    2 oz/ 56g Strong Cheddar Cheese (2 x HEAs)
    ½ tsp mixed herbs
    1 egg
    Salt and pepper

Cook the lentils in the measured water until soft and all the liquid has been absorbed. (You might need to add a little extra water, and stir to prevent sticking as the lentils turn to mush). Chop the onion and fry in Frylight until soft. Mix all ingredients together, and place in a 7" sandwich tin lined with baking parchment.

Bake at 190C / 375F / Mark 5 for 20-25 mins, until golden and firm to the touch. Cut into wedges and serve, hot or cold.

Lentil and potato bake (Serves 1: syn-free + 1 HEA)
    100g red split lentils
    1 small onion, chopped
    Frylite
    150g potato, cooked and sliced
    28gms Cheese to top (HEA)
    Preheat oven to gas 6/200C/400F
Fry lentils and onion for 5 mins or until onion starts to brown.
Cover and cook with a little water until water is absorbed approx 10-15 mins.
Spread lentil mixture in small casserole dish
Cover with the potatoes and sprinkle with cheese.
    Bake for 30 mins.
    Serve with lots of vegetables

    Lentil dahl Syn-free
    150 g split red lentils
    1 pint boiling water
    1 Knorr Chicken Stock Cube
    2 tsp Curry Powder
    - Microwave on full power for 10 mins
    - Stir and add more boiling water if necessary
    - Microwave for a further 5 mins

Great as a topping for baked potatoes.

Just had salmon, mashed potato (made with a couple of blobs of fat free fromage fraise & 2 of my HEA cheese triangles) & mushy peas - I'm absolutely stuffed!! Made enough mash for 4 hungry peeps but there ended up only 3 of us to eat it all - I'm such a greedy piglet when it comes to mash!! :o

I know I need to eat some superfree but I'm too full just now, I'll have some fruit later.

Congratulations on hubby's new job takeiteasy :j & well done to those who have lost this week :j

Dont know if its any use to you Vixie but the WW Tortilla Chips are 4 syns on all plans. They come in a pack of5or 6 from poundland . I think these might actually be better than the taco shells in that you get a bit more crunch for synnage :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
