There are actually different types I have found. The rectangular tub with the foil lid from Tesco is thicker and solid and more dry, more solid like a philadelphia type soft cheese, better for chunks in lasagne or replacing cheese spread on crackers etc. The round tubs from Asda and Morrisons with a plastic lid is smoother, similar texture to a greek yogurt, that would be better for stirring into sauces as it is smooth, not so good on crackers as it is too thin

I never knew there were different ones  but saying that its not often I get to tesco.....worth bearing in mind tho so I can try it next time ;)

Thanks for the replies RE quark - it is on the list to get tonight so may be a convert by the end of the week!! Sounds nice to add to JP, if I had known you could make a syn free carbonara I may not have consumed the 1000000000s of extra calories yesterday! Well actually i probably would....

Hello everyone, another work day for me but I am getting back into planning for this.

B- muesli, skim milk HEs, banana
    L- carrot soup, grapes
D- chicken, new pots, cauliflower, watermelon after
    drinks - tea, water
snacks - fruit, cucumber, carrot sticks

Niandra - I used to use quark for the SW quiche which was nice. Cooked pasta, lots of chopped veg (peppers, sweetcorn, etc), eggs whisked with quark poured over the top. Scatter on some cheese (HE) and bake in the oven till set.

Just tiny little ones atm so a while yet. Having quite a few courgettes though, I can see them figuring heavily in the menu over the next few weeks.

Munching peas fresh from the pod in the garden hits the sweet craving quite nicely :A - not quite the salted caramel marble pralines I want though.

Afternoon all, I've just managed to get home before the heavens opened, phew!!!

Another EE day today and it's looking like this:

Breakfast - necterine followed by quorn sausages, eggs, mushrooms and a tomato all cooked in frylight

Lunch - jacket potato and cottage cheese with slices of yellow pepper

Dinner - going to be a skinless chicken breast stuffed with quark and garlic, baked in the oven and served with SW chips, peas and salad

my HEs today are milk in my tea and a little olive oil on my chicken at dinner

syns - a magnum White icecream got 13 syns (I love the fact I can still ear these!)

If I still have room later I'll have a Noel of mixed berries and fat free yoghurt

    Well im totally stumped.

I bought some couscous checked the syns & it says 9 syns per pack - this cant be right. Could someone check them again for me please.

    per 100g
    134kcal
    protein 5.5
    carbs 24.5
    fat 1.6

I bought some amoy garlic & coriander noodles, on line it said 3 syns per pack but when i put them into the syn calculator they came up as 9.5 syns.
    noodles per 100g
    161kcal
    protein 6.8
    carbs 29.8
    fat 1.7

No idea what im doing wrong, can anyone work it out?

mary, are you putting the cous cous and noodles under the free allowance? this is maybe why it's calculating a higher syn amount
