    Makes about 8 medium bhajis

(free on EE if eaten with 1/3 superfree)

    I med red onion
    1 med white onion
    Clove Garlic chopped
    1 tsp salt
    Tin chickpeas
    Egg
1 or 2 tbsp Curry powder
    Cumin seeds (optional)
    Black onion seeds (optional)

*Put chickpeas, salt, curry poder, cumin seeds, garlic and egg into food processor and blend until a smoothish thick paste. you may need to add a little water to get the right consistancy.
*Chop onions in half and slice thinly. Add the chick pea mixture and black onion seeds if using to the onions and mix with your hands until onions are separated and covered in chick pea mix. Leave in the fridge for about half an hour or longer
*Spray an oven tray with frylight and using your hands form 8 loose bhaji shapes from the mixture, leave some onions sticking out as they get nice and crispy. Spray a little frylight on the top of them (i use about 4 squirts for all of them)
    * Put in hot oven 180 degrees for about 20-25 mins or until the top looks golden brown and a little crispy, very gently turn them over and pop back in oven for another 10-15 mins or until evenly cooked and browned.

My OH tells me he prefers them to takeaway ones as they are not as greasy, i shall be trying the ones with mash soon to see how they compare.

Now they DO sound good ! I could just eat those with a side salad and yogurty dip thing......I may need to make an emergency call to the oh to go to the supermarket on his way home for chickpeas :D:D:D

Im struggling this week to think of ideas for dinner:cool:, i cant go shopping because we are going away next week and i dont want to get too much in so im trying to use what i already have, the kids never tell me their plans till 1/2 hour before i start cooking but generally 1 of them will be out and i dont want to waste stuff when there are not enough of us (hubby is away otherwise he would just eat what they dont)

Does anyone have any simple ideas, mainly for green days, that a 4yr old is likely to eat (the only one who HAS to have dinner at home:D)

How about a biriyani with lots of vegetables and it can be re-heated rather than thrown away. Similar things that don't need to be thrown away (sorry, but I cannot imagine just wasting food because it isn't eaten as soon as it is cooked) would be a chickpea curry, mushy pea curry, dhal with lots of spinach and other vegetables/potatoes. Also if you make a rich tomato sauce to go onto pasta you can reheat the sauce as you need it and cook the pasta when needed in just a few minutes. Hope this helps, I've only listed things I like of course, so don't waste it but pass it my way :)
PS just noticed you have a 4 year old. Well it's never too soon to start eating grown up food eh? re black onion seeds (post a couple back) - get them from an asian supermarket or you may get lucky in the herbs/spice jars at your local Tesco or Sainos. They are common enough.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Dizzy - You can find black onion seeds in most big supermarkets in the herbs and spices section, they are also sometimes called Nigella Seeds. You know the black bits that are on naan breads? they are black onion seeds. :D
I am lucky that we have an indian shop nearby thats really cheap as they sell things in big bags for the same price as the little bottles you get from supermarkets, so I have a 'curry cupboard' full of spices and such! We sometimes have them as a starter with HM cucumber raita and mango chutney (need to syn this) and side salad or have them on the side of a curry.

As for my little problem, I'm constipated :embarasse QUOTE]

    Hi Screamer,

I had this problem when I first started, think it was my body adjusting to the new plan. I find if I miss my HeB the day before that makes it difficult for me to 'go' but I normally have a fibre plus bar in the evening and that makes movements more normal. Also some boiled water with lemon in (add sweetner if you want) works miracles for me!!

if we're openly talking about poo now can i say that when i started SW i had bad farts and diarhoea, how bad must my diet have been before? i also find that if i do lots of red days that i get constipated too, water water water is the answer, boring i know :( or those yummy chocolate ex-lax will work a treat,i used to eat a handful a couple days before a hot date to flatten my belly, the things we do! what was all that about? :rotfl:
