Is there a syn free/low syn recipe for lasagne out there? [ Bet MrsM knows one :D] I really fancy lasagne, hubby is gonna make a 'normal' one for him and chewy so I want a SW one for me. He's also making garlic bread but I [STRIKE]might[/STRIKE] will avoid that ;)

Had a bit of a shock earlier when I heard my nephews little girl was rushed to hospital with a febrile convulsion as her temperature spiked. Shes ok now but was very scary at the time.

Hope the little one is better now, what a scare :(

The recipe below is syn-free on Green & EE:-

Lasagne (0 Syns and 1 Healthy Extra)

    8-12 Lasagne Sheets
    1 Large Onion, finely chopped
    3 Garlic Cloves, crushed
    Fry Light
1 Large Pack of Fresh Quorn™ Mince
    2 x 400g Tin of Tomatoes
    Parsley and Oregano
1 x 200g Pot of Very Low Fat Natural Yogurt
28g per person grated Cheddar Cheese (using Healthy Extras)
    2 Egg Yolks & 1 Whole Egg
    A Pinch of Nutmeg
    Black Pepper
    Pinch of sweetener

    • Set the oven to 190˚C/ Fan assisted 170˚C
    • Spray a large frying pan with fry light and fry the onions and garlic.until softened
    • Add the Quorn mince and tomatoes and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and cover and simmer for 15 – 20 minutes
    • Remove from the heat and add the seasoning and sweetener
    • Lightly spray a lasagne dish with fry light.
    • Line the bottom with lasagne sheets. Cover with some of the mixture and layer the lasagne sheets on top
    • Repeat, ending with the lasagne sheets
    • In a bowl mix together the yogurt, grated cheese, eggs, nutmeg and seasoning.
    • Pour this over the lasagne.
    • Bake for 20 – 30 minutes or until brown
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

This is one of my favourite recipes. I'm not much into Indian food and much prefer Chinese:-

King prawn fried rice (FREE on EE)

    Basmati rice
Finely chopped spring onion (include the green tops)
Handful of frozen petit pois (mostly for the colour)
1 or 2 egg omelette (allow to cool and slice/chop)
    King prawns
    Pinch of grated ginger (optional)

Make fried rice by boiling as much as you require as per packet instructions, preferably several hours before it is required.

Spread rice out on a baking sheet to dry.

Heat a wok sprayed with Frylight, put in the rice, finely chopped onion and frozen petit pois. Stir for a few minutes to cook off the onion. Drop in the slices of omelette and the prawns. Add a few drops of Soy Sauce and stir till everything is thoroughly heated.

    Serve immediately.

A potato and spinach side dish, along with the bhajis would inch it towards 1/3rd superfree would it ?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/food/article-1159962/Recipe-Chickpea-potato-spinach-curry.html Such as this, but using Frylite to make it free on EE, or of course you could syn the oil ?

Hi Lynz - potatoes are not superfree (remember, they would be free on aGreen day but not on a Red day) but the spinach is. If you made a spinach and cauliflower or tomato side dish, that would double your superfree ;)

I joined last night and it was £9.95 - saucy secrets is £2.95, don't know about the other ones, I also bought the food directory for £7.50. It has all the supermarket branded food in it with their syn values.
