The child needs to be able to eat from it's mothers comfortable repatoire.

Thank you for bringing up the financial side of things!! I didn't want to make it look like I was forcing her to eat what we're eating to save us money :o

but the thin chip is of no food value at all.

Anyway, I'm afraid I need to bow out - and Angel you may be up early with a hungry DD, but keep going.

Does baby eat porridge - could make him some with a big song and dance about how yummy this is and see if big sis wants some as an after thought?

I'm making pancakes in the morning for my own plus the 3 students we have with us so I'd better go!

If I have read the op post correctly, I don't think the food value is the first issue, variety is, and very small steps are needed to show the new food isn't bad.
Then you can show the new food can be healthy as well, and go on to introduce a greater variety.

i have a fussy 4 yr old and a fussy husband, have posted on here before about th OH and thankfully he eats loads more than what he used to, but little man s a different matter, he will eat bread, cheese, apples and bananas, loves juice orange and apples but meals he is a nightmare.

He will only eat, mash potatos, sausages, nuggets, fish fingers, chips (sometimes) chicken and that is about it, if i ask him what he wants for dinner it's always 'sausage and tata please'

He will eat quite a big lunch but even for breakfast he will not eat cereal, it will only be toast or a jam sandwich!

Veggies are a no no and he will not even have them on his plate, i always put about 3 or 4 peas on his plate but they are not touched, i have bribed him before with them and a packet of buttons, 1 pea for 3 buttons in a bowl we got to about 9 buttons and then he gagged and was nearly sick

He like one of the other posters will not eat anything wet, no sauce, gravy ketchup nothig.

I have turned him now onto pizza, which he likes, he doesn't know though that i am making it with an egg as well as he will not tough one of them in any way shape or form!!!!

OP my heart bleeds for you it must be a nightmare i find it hard enough, i am doing the whole you didn't eat your dinner so you can't have a custard cream (his fave) but he goes on and on and on and on .......................

well possibly but I think I'd rather have a battle over something of nutrtional value than introduce something that could be very well liked but is not very accessable or worth while on a daily basis.

Interesting debate - good night now though

Does it make any difference if when you give her food on a plate, it's made into shapes or a picture?
