If I had worked out a way to catch the woolly things, I would be tucking into lamb chops EVERY DAY!! I love lamb and its about £1 a sq inch !! Working in a mill is nothing like real spinning BS, all you do is keep up with the machine. Horrible soul destroying job - but it was good money.

Moving from Mardatha's wool fetish to leather, can anyone recommend a good brand for leatherworking tools? Bought a rubbish leather punch the other day (kept receipt thank goodness) and need to know where to get some decent stuff. Got a 20kg bag of scrap leather to play with :D

20kg of scrap leather - wow mind you I have a few big pieces stashed away till the day I think of something good to do with them. Ok now guys you have to come up with something really good for me to make with it, besides patches for my knee's from begging the council to give Dd a house! Apparently it could take a year before she finds a house available and she is at the top of the list:eek:.

Theres lots of whispering going on round here tonight - its my birthday tomorrow and so far Im banned from the big freezer, the drawers in my office and Dd's bedroom (even tho Sil is out and I usually pop into give Dgs a kiss) Apparently Dd got some of my pressies for 20p from Mr S - blooming heck she is getting good at this shopping for peanuts :)

Had one of my days yesterday, am hoping today is better. Older son came down on the bike for the day, very very stressed & down, and it was much hard work to try & lift him. Didn't work.
Then the dinner, which was a load of fabulous Costco sausages done with tiny new potatoes, carrots & onions - was great when cooked but I re-heated in the microwave and it went a bit weird. :(
Today however, I am on a mission. I have found a girl on the farm 2 minutes up the road who spins wool. Her 10 yr old daughter also spins... so the honour of grannies everywhere rests on me to learn to spin cos this bairn can do it ! :D

I know what you mean about trying to lift your son, although mine is chuffed ( but nervous) about his new job he is worrying because his housemate hasn't paid any rent for weeks and now things are getting difficult. Yesterday when he came he was very fed up. A bowl of corned beef has helped though. Somehow he will get sorted.

thank you for the birthday wishes am off to Mums in a bit with Dh and Ds so that should be nice. Dd got me loads of food flavourings and colours for 20p from Mr S and a tiny coke a cola polar bear to add to my collection of bears - she put him in the freezer and put a bow round the freezer cos I love the one in an advert on tv. Very O/S and thoughtful!

Hope you have a better day today Mardatha, and good luck with the spinning, we are all waiting with bated breath to see how you go on :o( thats us holding our breath!)

It sounds like you're having a wonderful day so far with very thoughtful pressies.

Hope you find your oomph Mardatha - maybe a bit of [strike]sheep-[/strike]
